SOURCE: I have an old canon
Are you mechanically inclined????
If yes the problem is most likely the fuser lamps are burned out.
This is to take out the fuser unit (the two heat rollers where the paper exits---------let machine cool first!!!!!!!!!!)
2-open left side door
3 open front door
4- remove the green knob on the left
5-remove the left side cover ( i beleive you need to take off the two screws on top that hold the glass also)
6-remove the back cover(it is hooked onto the side cover)
7-after removing the side cover look at the fuser left top corner unplug the connector- there should be one on the right also big black wires with a white connector remove the screws that hold the fuser in place
8- once the unit is out there is a lamp that runs the whole lenght of the roller that is the fuser lamp there are wires on each side, remove the lamp bracket holder and one wire, you should be able to tell if it is blown, it will be black and smoky looking not clear.
if you go through these steps you should take advantage and replace the thermistor, thermofuse, claws, and oil roller.
I use to love the 2120 they are one of the best machines Canon put out a true workhorse, do these things and don't worry about hte fuser for another 3-5 years .
If you don't have a parts supplier try precisionroller.com
