Reebok Edge Treadmill 2.2 ... and I feel when jogging im gonna fall off the end of it - I cant see a man using this at all - maybe just for walking.
Jul 17, 2012 - i have recenty purchased a reebok edge series 2.2 treadmill but when i run in it the belt slips foreward then carries on the way it ... I sounds like the belt needs to be tightened. ... Walking belt on treadmill slips under pressure?
Hello! There is no other part that goes on the motor shaft after the belt is put on. The tension of the belt keeps the belt from slipping off. If you have a brand new belt that keeps slipping off you may not have the correct belt for the vacuum. Be sure you replace with a genuine Dirt Devil belt and the specified belt style for your particular unit. Hope this helps! If you still need assistance feel free to reach out to us here on Fixya, Facebook.com/dirtdevil, or Twitter @DirtDevil.
Belts squeak for the same reason tires do when they spin. They are slipping. Something isn't turning as fast as the belt wants it to. On ford it's usually ether the idler sprocket or the tensioner. If you remove the belt and try spinning all of the pulleys by hand.( note the crank wont spin freely) you will usually be able to tell witch ones slipping.
if it really is the walking belt that is slipping keep tightening the adjustment screws till the belt will not slip when you try to stop it ( set speed to about 3 and then with your foot try to stop belt from spinning - you should be able to make the motor and whole machine come to a stop ) make sure it is really walk belt spinning and it isnt the motor belt slipping. (if it is motor belt slipping when you try to do the stop the belt trick i just described you will see the walk belt and front roller stop but still hear the motor turning) once you get walk belt tight enough so it doesnt slip then you can worry about keeping the belt centered.
let me know if you need more help on this and let me know how the stop the belt test went
As a general rule, the belt should be kept as loose as possible. However, the belt must not slip on the rollers in normal use. Possible overtension can be quickly checked by walking on the belt at a speed of 3 mph The belt must slip on the front roller if you brake the belt with your feet, holding onto the hand rails, while you walk. If the belt does not slip, the tension is too high and the rear roller must be loosened.
The belt tension and alignment is done by adjusting the rear roller position with the attachment bolts at the back of the treadmill a 1/4 turn at a time until correct tension attained. T
The belt has probably slipped down below the carrier, it's easier to take the shaft out, install the belt then put the shaft back in. Be sure to turn the shaft top to the front with a 1/4 in. wrench to lock it in place.
This sounds like either the drive belt is loose or the walking belt is old. First, check the tension on the drive belt. If the drive belt is not slipping, then walking belt may need to be replaced. I say may because without working on the unit, I cannot say that IS the problem.
Sometimes tightening the belt is not the problem> What I would be doing is to get on the machine a determine which of the belt is actually slipping. What happens if the drive belt is glazed slippage occur no matter what you do. With the running belt you may have to it limits of adjustment and the belt can be stretched that no matter how you adjust it it will slip!!
When the belt slips, it can be 2 different places. The trick is to look at the front roller when the belt slips. If the front roller stops with the walking belt, then the drive belt (between the motor and front roller) is loose and can't be fixed by tightening the walking belt. If the drive belt is slipping, it needs to be tightened or replaced. I need the brand and model number to help you further.
