There is a bearing between the pump motor and pump housing that tends to leak after time. Is it leaking in the shaft area?

I think it's the impeller seals I just ordered them for 9 bucks. I'll change that and if it still leaks I'll try the bearing. It looks like it's coming from where the gold motor meats the plastic housing.

That is the ceramic seal i suggested. That should solve your problem.

What is broken in your motor? Don't count it out until you have your pool place give it a check. If it is dead, get a 1 1/2 Hayward Super Pump just like the one you have.

Opened & cleaned pool. Haward 250 Heater woun't stay on.

Could be a dirty or faulty ignition sensor. This is the sensor that tells the heater that there is a flame burning normally. If that sensor gets dirty or fails, the heater thinks there's no flame even though there is and cuts the gas as a safety measure. Cut the power, remove the cover, and check all the wire connections to be sure the leads are clean and dry and snug. The ignition sensor is near the bottom. If that doesn't work, then the sensor might be faulty rather than dirty. Call a tech to replace it.

Why does my pool motor keep burning out? I have replaced 2 new ones since march. I have a haward super pump and Emerson 2 hp motor

What is your line voltage to the motor; 115 or 230? The motors come out of the box at 230 if it is dual voltage and if you are connecting it to a 115 V line, it will overheat and eventually fail.

If you are connecting it to the correct line voltage and setting the motor to match; check to be sure your voltage is not dropping under load. Check both line to ground to ensure both lines are sound.

When replacing the motor, are the seals sound or have you replaced the pump seal at all? Is it leaking?

Are the motors failing electrically or mechanically?
