Question about Computers & Internet
After a while my screen goes white, I then have to tap my power button to get it back to the unlock screen. I have turned off "go to sleep" turned off any power saving settings but still does it?
If you have adjusted the power settings to HIGH PERFORMACE and ajusted the ADVANCED Power settings to NEVER, Sleep, Hibernate, Dim, etc., etc. Have you updated the Graphics drivers? Lonovo support: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/research/hints-or-tips/detail.page?DocID=HT072893. Is ther a set time it goes white, say 10, 20, 30 mins.? What is your Screen Saver Time? Found in Display Settings or in Win 7 Personalize. I don't know your OS, Win. Vista, 7?

do you leave the laptop open or close when you are no using it?
if you leave it open, there is a switch at the top of the F keys, close to the LCD panel. press that button will turn on the the machine. if not, press the enter key twice and wait 10 sec. it should come up.

I've had spotty luck with Windows and sleep or hibernate modes. I would suggest just disabling sleep/hibernate mode. The options can be found under the control panel under power options. While turning off the sleep mode won't help your battery life, if you ask me, it beats having to power off the laptop by pulling the battery out. If you don't want to turn it off, you can try adjusting the amount of time it lets pass before it goes to slee.

I had the same problem when I first bought my Acer Aspire One a few weeks ago. I searched the web for answers, but it didn't really seem like anyone had a solution. However, one guy on a forum or website said something that gave me an idea - he said something like: What's the problem? Just open it up, hit the power button, type your password, and it wakes up.
Well, that didn't seem helpful to me at the time that I read it, but after thinking about it, I had a hunch. I had not set up my netbook to have a password (yet). So I did. And it's been waking up from sleep mode like it should ever since!!!
Hopefully, if you're reading this, setting a password will work for you, too. If you don't know how to set a password, here goes... Start...Control Panel...User Accounts...Change an Account...[Pick your name.account]...then the option to create a password should come up. Let us know if this works for you!
