Replacing parts on a cell phone is a very delicate process. I would check on-line and find a local shop that can fix it for you. I live in ATL and there are several places here that offer the service for around $20

It will be better not to open the handset yourself. Open the handset if you are a perfect hardware engineer. Otherwise some other problems could also arise.
Take the handset to the nearest LG service centre or an Expert Technician in the open market. Have them fixed it for you at a nominal cost.

DO IT YOUR SELF. SAVE MONEY:
Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.
This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.
