I have a at&t tilt phone. my phone is running extremely slow.
My calls, texts, and programs come in or open with a bad delay. i can barely open my texts and when i do i try to type but no letters come up at all. i've restarted it, reset it, and also deleted some of my files. what else can i do?
Re: i have a at&t tilt phone. my phone is running...
Make sure you dont have very many programs running by pushing the button in the top right corner of the screen...if there are several progs running, close the ones out you don't need and try it then...

Unfortunately the gyro
in the HTC diamond only operates in certain programs like opera
mobile internet browser, when viewing pictures in album, and the game teeter.
The keyboard would be bigger if it could be rotated using the gyro but HTC did not
program it to do this. There are some free program you can download that will allow
you to do this but they also rotate everything else every time you tilt the phone.
you may have a lot of programs running in the background, which jams the phone up and slows it down horribly. you may want to back your phone up on the blackberry desktop program and then go into security option after all is backed up... then wipe handheld, this will restore all the functions back to its original status like when you first bought it. then reconnect it to BB desktop and recover and sync it again and all should be ok.
Applications on the blackberry do not close when opened, each application you open consumes memory. Also the working memory and the memory to store programs are shared unless you have installed a microSD card. Remove and reinsert your battery, if a hard reset speeds the phone up your problem is open applications. If it does not, your problem is that you are out of space and need to remove some applications or install a larger capacity SD card.
You can factory reset it. But unless your contacts are on your SIM card you will lose everything. However, if you are able to use your phone at all you can run a backup program like PIM backup to save all of your goodies.
Anyway, here's how to set it back to factory (a.k.a. Hard Reset)
1. Both of the top soft keys down at the same time 2. While still holding the soft keys, press the "reset" button on the side of the phone. (you'll need to use your stylus) 3. It will bring up a black screen with text asking you to confirm. Press the "send" key to confirm. Voila, there you go.
By the way this procedure is kind of odd hand placement so it may take a few tries to get it completely.
Do a backup with PIM Backup and them hard reset the phone (Factory default)
To hard reset the wing: Hold both soft keys down while hitting the reset button with your stylus (the little hole on the side). Should bring up a black screen with some text. Press "send" key to finish process.
*Note it takes a couple of tries to get all of the buttons pressed together. May not work first try.
i dont have a blackjack but this happened on my blackberry 8800. i just deleted a bunch of old text messages and it started working fine. i guess it was running out of memory and that was causing it to run slow.
Ok. So stumbled across this page because I was having the same problem, i.e. all of a sudden the wing was moving unbelievably slow and would lock up if I tried to text. I pulled out the battery, classic, and then I pulled out the sim card. Then I put the battery back in and started it with out the sim card. I unlocked the phone with my code, I couldn't do the second "unlock" because there was no sim card. However, I could play solitaire, look at memory; ya know, mess with the basics. Then I turned the phone off with the power button, pulled the battery out, put the sim card back in, turned the phone on and now everything is great! I have even texted with no problems! hope this works for you!!!
