Question about Sony Cfd-440 Boombox Am Fm Cassette Cd Radio Mega Bass W/guarantee
My son bought this stereo for me a few weeks ago off Ebay to use with my choir (split track cd's). It played for a week. Then it would only play songs going forward. If I tried to go back and repeat a song, it would freeze. Now it won't play any cd's. If I go to song 1 and hit play, it goes back to 0.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: my CD player says
how long have you been using this player? The problem should be from the lens (laser).
The lens is weak and that's why it cannot read/load Cd's. The weak lens is also what's making it says "no disc".
Get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, but if the lens still does the same thing even after using the lens cleaner, then it means you would have to change the whole lens completely to a brand new one.
By so doing your player would play all Cd's with no problem at all.

sounds like the stop button is getting a crossover signal
the CD player ALWAYS has vibration... (impossible to make a perfect balanced spinning mechanism...) and this could allow a slight vibration to affect the machine... age making it more prominent and thus the delay in occurance
but more likely the Capacitor has gone bad (13 years is a very good life for the small charge holders) allowing the voltage to go where it isn't supposed to go
assuming you are a DIY guy then trace the path for the stop button and check the capacitors and resistors in the area
usually a connection is make or break but it could have a signal pull resistor with a capacitor to stop direct current.. if so, that is the first capacitor to check... also good news in this case... the capacitor that fits with a pull up/down switch isn't very critical in it's specs so a close match should be fine
