The roller may be clogged with debris or the drive belt (if there is one) may have broken. The lack of suction could be due to a clogged intake.

How to put on attachments

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC14 includes a Stair tool, Dusting brush and a Crevice tool. These are push-fit parts and will attach either to the end of the wand when additional reach is needed, or into the hose cuff for cleaning in confined spaces.

Dyson problems

I have a DC-07 Animal and I have taken it apart many a time and cleaned at least the plastic parts. Its all modular. I would just make sure nothing is clogged.. Remember the Hepa filter is not washable just the sponge filter. So if you took out the filter and left in the Helpa filter I would order a new Hepa filter - its probably clogged by now! Beat of luck!

Hi. Our dyson dc14 telescope reach wont **** from the base unit only the telescopic reach. We got a sock stuck init but we now have it out. Please help

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC14. If it doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, it's possible that there's a blockage in the system - I'd also recommend giving the filter a wash. The easiest way to check for and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=626&product=DC14-ALLFLOORS_US

The correct way to wash the filter is shown in the guide linked below. Under normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without detergent, and allow up to 24 hours for the filter to dry completely before replacing it.

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=622&product=DC14-ALLFLOORS_US

By clearing any obstructions and washing the filter, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you, and to recommend the best course of action.

Kind regards,

Jack

No suction

Your filters are clogged. Dysons have two filters. One is the washable one located directly beneathe the cannister. The other is a post filter located inside of the vacuum housing. This filter should be replaced by a Dyson technician. The Dyson company recommends you replace your filters every 6 months to a year, depending on how often you vacuum.
