Graphics wavy and sound sometimes not clear after flash on mb

Hi. I have msi 0a48 motherboard and 2pieces 512mb ddr2 pc5300 memory. My computer is dx2200m. I installed 2 pieces 1gb memory of same kind as previous, then i booted, first 2 times didnt boot, i loogged in to windows, then after 5 min there came an electric flash from my motherboard. After that my sound is not clear always and my graphics is wavy when i start my computer from off mode or standbymode but then gradually after 5 min it becomes better. So i thought it might be my graphics chipset at fault and i installed new pcie 256mb asus graphics card and fps increased but the wavy screen is not improved at all so maybe some capacitor or the memory area on motherboard is not good or is it the psu? When i was going to install graphics card the asus one the screen was like pulsating from lighter to darker. Any ideas exactly or generally whats the issue here? I play cs 1.6 and the sound is sometimes not clear so maybe this can indicate where the problem is? I installed new cpu but it did not improvethis issue. Thanks for help

First of all try to update your mobo bios again but with a different bios file.

Your issue can be due to faulty bios update, if there is any option to revert back to your original bios then do so if not try to update your mobo again with more recent bios file.

SOURCE: Vertical lines at BIOS splash screen

Is your power supply rated to hand the board and the graphics card and all the other hardware?

Did the issue star with the video card?

try removing the extras like the CD drive and any other PCI devices and just putting the graphics card in and whats needed to boot the computer.

Also, reseat the graphiocs card.

also try installing just the drivers for the video card without any of the over clock software.

Try resetting your BIOS by disconnecting the power cabel and removing the BIOS battery and waiting a minute, put back in and restart/

How did you get your drivers and graphics? Did you install the whole package? What is the Asus model #? How much Ram do you have? I'm going to do a little research but let me know what you have.

My graphic card can not support my msi motherboard p4900m2l

You mean your motherboard won't support your graphics card.

The 'port' is a PCI-Express x16 slot,

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P4M900M2-L.html#/?div=Basic

Drivers are small pieces of software that allow an Operating System, to 'communicate' with a device.

Windows XP and Windows 7 are two examples of an O/S.
Operating System.

The Nvidia GeForce 8400GS is an example of a device.

Windows operating load the software FIRST.
Then power off, power unplugged, Anti-Static Precautions FOLLOWED, physically install the graphics card.

If not you may get a driver conflict.

Primer:
When a device is installed on a computer with Windows on it, Windows will 'break it's neck' to find suitable drivers.

If THE drivers are not there, Windows will match up one of it's THOUSANDS of generic drivers.

This = No

Then let's say, you come along after physically installing the graphics card, and install the software off of the installation disk.

Windows: "Which drivers do I use? These or THESE?"

Driver conflict

Now,....which scenario do you follow?

1) Have not installed the software yet,
or
2) Have installed the graphics card FIRST, then installed the software.

Post back in a Comment.

"Memory Turbo Card must be installed with either DDR2 or DDR3"!

It is not DDR2 or DDR3, it is new memory technology developed by Intel which is a flash memory module which reduces the time it takes for a computer to power up, access programs, and write data to the hard drive.

Pc5300 on pc3200 slot to upgrade msi 845gvm-v

PC5300 or more correctly "PC2-5300" and can work in a system that has "PC2-3200" RAM, and if mixed, they will operate at the speed of the slowest module. "PC-3200" RAM, however, is not compatible. PC-3200 is DDR SDRAM, having 184 pins. PC2-3200, and PC2-5300 are DDR2 SDRAM, having 240 pins. DDR and DDR2 modules are the same length,
but the pins on DDR2 are smaller and the keying notch is in a slightly different position.

You need to get the replacement ram all the same type ie - DDR or DDR2

And yes your motherboard should accept 2GB max

Then the service engineer needs to go back to school and learn to read. For if you look up the specs to your model. It clearly states:

Chipset
Intel 945 PM Express Chipset
L2 Cache / FSB
2 MB L2 Cache / 667 MHz FSB
Memory
1 GB PC2-5300 (667 GHz) DDR2
HDD
160 GB Serial ATA, 150 MB/ Sec @5400 RPM
Optical Drive

Graphics
****NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 Dedicated Video Graphics with 512 MB TurboCache****

My suggestion^ Go to someone who knows about computers and who knows how to read too. Hope this is helpful.

Recently i bought msi motherboard and um um havin aproblem that it is hanging if i use more software,or play games ....it just stucks stilled screen and um just restarting. um havin 2gb ddr2 ram...

Can you give me the specs for the previous unit that you had before the MSI MB? The reason seems that it is because you run out of RAM memory. Or you can check the instruction manual as to the maximum RAM memory and compare with what you have now. Another thing could be that since you increased the frequency you have to increase the frequency of the RAM memory. Again check the instruction manual for the MSI MB and see what is the frequency required by the RAM memory. Let me know, I am here to help you...
Thanking you very much for considering our service...

Graphics cards

Hi noxiney, you're MSI motherboard does have 1 opened AGP 8x4x slot. You can install & run the ATI Radeon X1650 PRO AGP. You can not run PCI-Express because there are no PCI-E slots on the board. There are PCI (White in color) on the board but the AGP slot is much faster than the PCI (White in color slots). The manual states the AGP card can only support 1.5volt video cards & not 3.3volt AGP cards. (Keep this in mind when looking for an AGP card).
Below is a link to a bunch of AGP 8x4x video cards. One or two include DDR2 memory. Carefull where you buy. Check the warranty. (Longer is better). The first one on the list would be compatible. Its not DDR2 but it does have 512MB of memory.
http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=AGP+ATI+Radeon+X1650+PRO&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title

This card is 1.5v compatable.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3101648&CatId=318
& this is compatable.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1642902&CatId=318
Just remember, if the card can run both 8x & 4x it should support the 1.5volt needed to function on the MB.

Enjoy!

KM4M-L and graphics cards/memory queries

I would hate to burst the bubble but if you buy any DDR2 memory, then you will be wasting your money.
This motherboard only supports standard DDR upto 333mhz and only 2gig max of that.

Video card wise, then an ATI 9800 Pro can be had cheaply or an nVidia 6800 AGP version can be purchased new.

Hope it helps =)
