Try reinstalling the driver, go to your start menu bottom left hand side of the screen click it, Locate computer or my computer and right click it and scroll down to properties, click properties and select the hardware tab, once there click on device manager and go down to the sound card and try reinstalling the driver, If its not there or you can update automatically, let me know what computer you have and ill find the driver for you.
The simple and the only solution to this is reinstalling the sound card drivers.
Go to device manager > under sound video and game controllers Right click on the IDThigh def audio codec and uninstall it.
Alsouninstall the connexant or th realtec audio driver
remember don't install the IDTcodec back.. just reinstall the sound driver from the recovery manager > advance options > hardware driver installation.
