Dryer won't stay hot through the cycle

First make sure lint filter is clean. If filter clean check the exhust duct it may be full of lint or kinked blocking air flow. If everything checks out ok the problem is electrical. Dryers have a high temp switch as a safety shut off.

Flashing check filter I have and cleaned all filter, but the dryer is still not drying.

Have you cleaned your outlet vent tubing? Cleaning filters is just one part of really cleaning your dryer. You have to clean your dryer vent from the back of your dryer. Disconnect the vent from behind your dryer and use a shop vac to suck out any lint that mite be built up. Blocked lint tubes are #1 cause of dryer fires.
Hope this helps

Why my dryer starts normal runs then stops the check filter light on

The Check Filter light comes on when the dryer's sensors suspect that the filter is overly full of lint. This is sensed by temperature and moisture in the drum. If the filter is not full , check to be sure that the vent ducting is not clogged or blocked.

  • Hi Jim,
The first thing to check is the filter is clean and not blocked. The air travelling through the dryer is what carry's the water vapor away. The Lint filled filter will block the airflow resulting in forever to dry anything if at all. The second thing to think about is a over full tub of washing to dry will have the same effect as that blocked filter. Two half loads of washing dry faster that the same amount altogether in the same dryer. Last but not least, check that the intake or exhaust is not blocked with fluff or that the dryer is not right up against the wall effectively blocking the flow of air.

These points are general to all dryers Jim. They are not specific as you have only recorded a fault and no mention of Brand age or model.

    Good Luck

My lg 2240 clean filter light blinks even though the filter is clean. when started it runs for 3 to 4 seconds then shuts off. if you wait for about a minute it will start again then shut off after 3 to 4...

This problem usually is caused by a restricted or blocked vent. The filter itself can be clean, but the duct work in the dryer after the filter, or the vent hose attached to the dryer, or the exhaust door attached to that hose is either restricted, plugged or blocked. Lint likes to build up in all areas the exhaust air goes, so check them all. The dryer has a sensor that will shut the dryer off if there is a restriction. Cleaning all of the duct work, from the filter all the way to where it exhausts outside, will usually solve this problem. An easy way to check is to unhook the exhaust hose from the dryer and run it. Does it keep running now? It is possible the sensor in the dryer has gone bad, but that is rare. 99% of the time it is lint build up in the venting.

On sensor cycle, the dryer flashes H1 or H2. Clothes never dry. Is it safe to run the dryer? Also, hardly any heat on timer cycle.

this could be down to the breather outlet pipe blocked up, or inlet filters blocked up,,,,check that the dryer can breath easly first,,,,
then check the temp thermostats it there cuttin out they will shut off the heat

My dryer will not dry my clothes what should i do to fix this problem. It takes 3 cycles to dry a load completly

if its a condenser dryer make sure the condenser itself is not blocked up ( usually located at bottom of dryer, looks like a metal box). clear any lint build up and u can also flush it through with water. obviously check the filter also.

if a vented dryer make sure the vent hose not kinked or blocked, check the actual vent outside on your wall as wel. sometimes if wrong vent fitted ie one with wire mesh meant for extracter fan, can be blocked up with lint

The lint filter light continues to come on and shut off the dryer even the the filter is clean

check the inlet filters first and then the out let hose the dryer needs to breath in a lot of air so if any of the inlets or out let pipes are blocked that could put this light on

My dryer is giving off outside heat and not drying my clothes

check the filter is clear and the access vent from heater fan to tumbler is not blocked - have seen a sock blocking air flow -
drier is only a fan blowing air over a heated element & through a duct or pipe into the tumbler - on exit the air passes a filter and if this is blocked - through passage is obstructed and hot air will escape backwards

LG DLGX7188 check filter light is on and preventing start of drying cycle. Have checked to ensure filter is clean. What else is causing this error light?

I would suggest checking the vent to be sure that it is not blocked -- this may cause it to think that the filter is blocked.
