Question about JVC KD-R530 CD receiver

1 Answer

My JVC KD-R530 distorts and crackles when turning up the volume. I just bought it brand new. I tried more than one type of speaker, two of them being brand new as well.

This happens on all modes I try it on, iPod, Radio, CD. I even tried turning down the amp gain like the guy at JVC said and it still did it.

Did you check impedance value and wattage on speakers you want to add to receiver?

SOURCE: JVC RX558 VBK, Crackling noise from speakers

A quick quess of mine is the following:

The OVERLOAD indicator lights up when the receiver is maxing out on the current it is sending to the speakers. My guess is there is possibly something wrong with the receiver itself, especially since the B speakers won't play. Either that, or something is broken in your speakers or you are using a set of speakers that have too low an impedance rating for your receiver.

Your best bet is to go to a location that sells install kits and purchase one. Otherwise you have to figure out what lines match up to what lines on your own. One bad connection and you can fry your reciever.

Try connecting the yellow wire to a constant power source. That is, a source that still has power when the key is turned off. The yellow wire controls the memory of the radio.

Playing MP3 Via AUX comes out crackly

Try turning the volume lowwer on the mp3 player and higher on the head unit. The radio is trying to amplify an amplified sound which is why you are getting distortion.

On my jvc 517v when you turn the volume up the speakers are crackeling and scratchie and speakers sound terrible.

Is this a NEW problem or has it always been like this? What modes or sources are affected? Generally, crackling, scratchty sound is either overdrive distortion, speakers being pushed too hard, or blown speakers.

What is the exact model. Can't find the manual for "517v".
