Yes, you will need a digital converter box for this model. There are some available on amazon.com for about $50, or you can pick one up at your local electronics store like Best Buy for about the same price or slightly higher.
Here is the official government website about digital conversion, which should answer any more questions you have: http://www.dtv.gov/buyconverter.html

2005 Conversion Van has TV What do I need to do to receive Signal

If the audiovox does not have digital capability you will need a converter. The converter "converts" the digital signal back to the old signal so that your tv will recognize and play it. Thanks for using fixya.

My digital tv tuner converter box with analog Zenith converter bo

Most DTV converter boxes have 2 outputs available; RF and component video. The RF goes in between the antenna and the TV and acts as a frontend tuner. The TV needs to be set to Channel 3 or 4 (depending on the box) and left there. All tuning is then by the converter box. By the way, you need to scan for channels as part of the setup. The other method is by using the audio/video component inputs to the TV and the set would then select AUX 1 or 2 etc to get the box input, and tune via the box.

Quasar TP1020DH...need to go to channel 3 for conversion to digit

Can you tune your television to channel 4? Most digital converter boxes have a slide switch on the back to select either CH3 or CH4. Select channel 4 on the slide switch and channel 4 on your TV.

Would you please let me know the type of antenna in connection you have on this TV? I have a viewer with an issue and I cannot find a users manual to view the back of the TV.

Thanks and good luck.

Digital converter box

A digital converter box will only allow an analog TV to to operate in analog when using a stick antenna... If you have cable or sat Tv then you won't need the converter because those companies already do the conversion for you.
If you have a HD Tv than by all means it will get HD without a converter using a stick antenna and several stations are available or will be available on cable and sat with extra fees...
Hope this helps!

Does my TV have a digital tuner?

If your portable set was made before March 1, 2007, then it almost certainly does not have a digital tuner and would require a converter box. (After that date, the FCC requires all TV's to have the digital tuning.)
