Question about GE WBSR3140DW Top Load Washer
Washer was working fine. A week ago when I did a load of laundry, there was still water in the washer at the end of the cycle...and somewhat sudsy. My husband took it apart and found a quarter stuck in the pump. He ran a cycle empty and it seemed to work fine. Thought the problem was fixed. When I did a load of laundry today there was no standing water, but the clothes are wetter than normal. Running a second spin cycle helps, but still not like normal. When I took some of the clothes out, and ran the load again, it was much better. Is it not spinning fast enough for a big load? Also there are still some suds left on the clothes...not too bad, just some. So that makes me think that the pump may have been damaged from the quarter.
Problem may be motor overheating.
I have a GE top load washer with similar problem.
i think that the problem with mine is that by the time the washer runs through the wash cycle and first spin it's warm, then as it begins to spin for the rinse cycle, the thermal sensor in the motor shuts the motor down. it doesn't get spinning fast enough to spin the water out of the clothes. when i put my hand on the motor it is quite hot. in a few minutes it will spin again.
my question is this: can i override the thermal shut down and is it dangerous to do that?

I would check your belt.the added stress of a full tub longer with water may have done it in.part#wh1x2026 God bless, tom
