Question about Epson Stylus Pro 4880 InkJet Printer

Open Question

Lasers on epson 4880 dtg printer are showing platen to be too high , but wont allow youi to lower table

It is a melcojet G2 (rebranded epson 4880) I don't know if the PF Encoder sensor is our problem (don't know where that is) or it appears the motor under the platen table is not wanting to turn. Would like to get a hold of a repair manual that would show a layout of the printer and part description and we can possibly figure it out.

SOURCE: Epson Stylus Photo RX600: Banging noise when turning on printer

Ok I think this is the cartridge carrier doing the banging I have had this on 2 or 3 epsons that I oncwe owned. If you clean those rails that the cartridge container slides on the banging should cease. Dont need to oil them just a damp cloth will do it. You can try sewing machine oil later. only a very small drop ( smidgen) on a cloth to wipe both rails.

SOURCE: The paper and ink led flashing on my Epson R2400.

maybe your printer is Blocked by software...
Epson, apart from the chips was invented so that when the printer takes a certain amount of printed pages (about 8000 or so, in most models), suddenly stops working, the two buttons start to flash and does not walk more .

This is because the ink that they will bring to the cartridges when cleaning heads, going somewhere. These are the waste ink tanks, this is where you stay, and the printer has a meter that estimates when the tank is full and stops the printer to prevent ink overflow and cause an internal short circuit.

How do I unlock it?

To save money and the hassle of carrying it to better manage service yourself. You download the software company that provides ssc, Static Control Components, on the next page: http://www.ahorraentinta.com.es/ayuda_ssc.htm

On that page in Spanish will help to make your Epson is like new.

PS: If your printer is not supported by this program (such as the Epson C67) you put in google EPSON ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM FOR EPSON C67 and the low of software.

SOURCE: my epson r 230 printer is showing 'service require...

Epson programmed their printer to monitor the waste ink counter and your printer has reached the maximum value allowed, you have to reset your printer to clear the waste ink counter.

You may read the information regarding "end of life" and "waste ink counter" here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp

To reset the counter, download re-setter program here, install and follow the instruction in the web site.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Can I turn off the ink counter on 9800?

Why would you want to turn off the counter? Doing so would allow you to run the machine completely dry resulting in major print head damage?

You cannot turn off the counter, but you can purchase a chip resetter.

Hope this is helpfull
