you can always try to install the printer on a friend's pc as a test of the printer...do you have the install cd? if not try canon's site to download it.

SOURCE: I also have the problem

this may already be mechanical and may need service repair, but yuo may give this a try. Basically same steps you did. turn off the printer, disconnect it from the computer and unplug its power cord. press its power button for about 10 seconds just to discharge any power left to it. Next, open the document cover and adjust the scanner lock switch to the lock position. Wait about about 10 seconds, then adjust the scanner lock switch back to the "release" position, and close the document cover. Connect the power cord back, then switch on the printer, wait for about 30 secs to a minute, then switch it off again. Connect the printer back to the system, then switch it on and test it. Hope this will get you moving forward on this situation.

Kyocera FS 6525 MFP photo copier Error 4201 . How to solve this problem ?

The "Error code 4201" can indicate a problem with the scanner home position. You can fix this by trying a few simple steps:
1. Turn off the photocopier: You need to press the power button to turn off the machine and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes before proceeding to the next step.
2. Check for any obstructions: Open the scanner unit and inspect for any physical obstructions, such as paper scraps or foreign objects, that may be preventing the scanner from moving freely. If you find any, carefully remove them.
3. Reset the scanner: You need to locate the scanner lock switch, usually located on the underside of the scanner unit, and ensure it's in the unlocked position. Gently move the scanner unit back and forth a few times to reset its position.
4. Clean the scanner rails: Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to clean the scanner rails. This will help ensure that the scanner unit will have more smooth movement.
5. Plug in and turn on the photocopier: After trying the steps above, you can plug the photocopier back into the power source and turn it on. Check if the error code 4201 has been resolved.
Honestly, if the error persists after following all these steps, I would recommend you to contact the Kyocera customer support or a certified technician for further assistance. They will be able to provide more specific guidance or have a better insight on how to solve the issue.

Where is the scanner lock button of kyocera 4012i? to solve C3100 it says check the scanner lock

The scanner lock button on the Kyocera TASKalfa 4012i is located on the left-hand side of the machine, towards the back of the scanner unit. It is a small lever that can be turned to lock or unlock the scanner unit.
To solve the C3100 error on the Kyocera TASKalfa 4012i, you should first check to make sure that the scanner lock is in the unlocked position. If the scanner lock is already unlocked, the issue may be related to the scanner motor or the scanner home position sensor.
In this case, it is recommended that you contact Kyocera technical support or a certified Kyocera service technician for assistance in resolving the issue.

My cx3200's control panel reads scanner error. I unlocked the transportation lock, turned off, turned on. It stayed off for about 2 minutes then came right back on. While the error light was off tried to...

The only things that can cause a scanner error on this unit is a complete scanner harware failure or the scanner lock. With the unit on lock the transport lock and unlock it a few times quite forcibly. Then leave it in the unlocked position and power off and on again. If the light returns then at his point I think a new printer will be needed.

Error on printer

There is a safety lock on the scanner that may be in the locked position. Turn the unit off and locate the green lock lever/switch under the scanner where the paper comes out. It will be labeled with a icon (picture) of a lock (unlocked and locked). Move it to the unlocked and locked position multiple times, ending up in the unlocked position. It may be stuck so moving it back and forth may release it. Turn it back on and try it.

Try flicking the transportation lock (on the left side under the scan lid) on and off. It has a picture of a pad lock shown locked and unlocked. Flip it back and forth and leave it in the unlocked position.

This worked for me. Good luck!

Lexmark X83 "Unlock Scanner" error

I had the same problem and the solution is this: There is a red lever switch by the power chord on the scanner/printer. Above this red lever switch is the drawing of a lock in the "locked" position and at the bottom this red lever switch is the drawing of a lock in the "opened (unlock)" position. The lever on the red switch should point to the "opened" lock symbol (unlock). It the switch lever is pointing to the "locked" position of the lock symbol, flip it to the "opened" position and recycle power on the scanner by removing the power chord for a 30 seconds. If the lever is pointing to the "unlock" lock symbol, flip it to the "locked" position and then back to the "unlocked" position and recycle power. Good luck!
