Pixma ip3600....after cleaning and deep cleaning...I still get fine horizontal lines

are you copying? maybe there are scratches on the glass of the scanner.
if printing ... usually means your low on ink or a nozzel is clogged with ink or dust etc... grab like a "deep" tupperware lid shallow side facing the counter, pour some "coffe pot " hot water in it , then take the cartridge (30-31.40-41.50-51-52.) as it sits in the printer , placing the bottom most part into the water ( maybe towards the edge using the side of the lid to prop up the shorter side of the bottom of cartridge as to keep it level and or flat) place the matching peice of tupperware over the bath (like a dutch oven) to keep steam in and leave anywhere from a10 minutes to half hour - hour. you'll know when it is done by folding a napkin and or paper towel keeping it flatten out and dabbing ( or blotting the bottom of the cartridge onto it eith on your hand or flat surface likr the counter ) blott untill you can see "CLEAR !" cyan (blue), Yellow, Magenta(pink) bars IF BARS ARE INCOMPLETE PLACE BACK INTO BATH WITH FRESH HOT WATERAND REPEAT STEPS ( ABOVE). IF BARSARE MISSING ALL TOGETHER NO MATTER HOW MANY BATHS ARE GIVEN YOU WILL NEED TO REFILL OR PURCHASE A REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGE , THIS ONE COLOR IS CLOSE OR IS EMPTY?

Cartridge carrier on x7170 missing?

In some cases, the cartridge carrier doesn't move to the loading position even when the printer is on and the cover open. Try this. With the cover open, unplug the printer from the power source. You'll notice a solid white tape in the center of the printer. Hold that tape because the other end of it is connected to the cartridge carrier. Slowly slide the carrier to the center for easy access. Load the new cartridges. Close the lid, close the cover and power on the printer. Now, if there is really no cartridge carrier in the printer at all, unfortunately it's not sold separately. It comes with the printer as a whole. It's not available for part replacement.

Test page prints fine, but nothing else does

You need a new printhead, QY6-0049-000 around $40.00. Your printhead has worn out or plugged nozzles and cleaning won't help.

Too much green

Printing too green is a sign of low or no Magenta ink. Might pay to look there. (Green is Cyan and Yellow ink, so Magenta is missing to make Grey/Black)

Sounds like someone might have also managed to mix up an ink cartridge and put it in the wrong slot?

Check that the nozzle patterns for each colour are in the right place on the print out according to the sample in the manual / online. Maybe Magenta is missing altogether?
