Hi dimply24...

When the Apple Logo is stuck
If this happens, put the iPod into Disk Mode through the diagnostic menu. Then connect the iPod to your computer and update or restore the iPod.
Sometimes you can get away with just updating the iPod, so try that first, but usually you have to restore the iPod .
As always make backups of your music files, because the restore procedure will eliminate them.

Hi there i have a classic 30 gig ipod and think it has picked up a viras of some sort it wont turn on it s coming up with apple logo and turning off again and repeat s this till it runs outt of battery any...

Apple products do not pick up virus of any sort. The problem with your iPod most probably is due to a broken hard disk. If you reset the iPod, hold it close to your ear and take note of a clicking sound. An iPod that's working properly should have no clicking sounds or anything when you reset it. If you can hear one, you have to have the hard disk replaced. Also, before having it replaced, check if you can place it on disk mode and then perform a full restore. Most problems can be solved by resetting the factory settings.

I turn the ipod on an it keeps on showing the apple an has a big red x and says www.apple.com/support/ipod

You need to restore your iPod from Disk mode:
  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.

  5. Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect"
  6. Open iTunes.
  7. After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
  8. Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
  9. Click Restore.
Hope that helps.
Cheers.
