Your best bet is to take it to a tech and let him fix it. Popping a fuse means there was an "overload" of current or a "dead short". neither are good and can cause a fire either in a vehicle or home. I use a Mirage 66 and an RCI-2950 (mobiles) as my base stations. The only difference between a base unit and a mobile unit is "how you power them up" (obviously). I use a 6 amp power supply.
Once again.........if you are not knowledgeable, take it to someone who is. It may save your life, home, and/or vehicle! DO NOT TAKE CHANCES!!!

hello have you checked the swr on the antenna have you checked the output of the radio with a power metre it should be reading 4watts max if yes problem might be the microphone make sure there are no wires shortening in the mic socket entering the radio and check inside the mic aswell
