SOURCE: Microphone does not pick up voice

I am sorry to say but I think that perhaps your Microphone is faulty? These headset leads are notorious for breaking. If you know how to use a meter, perhaps you could check the circuit, and "see" if there is a Microphone attached? Could you "Test" it on another PC? But if this isn't the case below are some helpful links.. I "Googled" this --->troubleshooting microphone problems xp? http://support.plato.com/kb/tip.asp?psid=26055 www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/speech_setup_microphone.mspx

Try changing the Windows Default Audio devices

  1. Go to control Panel
  2. Sounds and audio devices
  3. The Audio tab
  4. Then change the Sound Recording Device to Logitech Headphone INPUT
Hopefully this will work

SOURCE: My headphones work, my mic does not(at all)

Have you gone to your control panel, and found the "speech recognition" option? If you havent tried it, do that. It wil have you recite a sentence and then should conifgure your mic to your computer. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: People can hear background noises on my PC but not my voice

Hi,

Perform some simple steps as follows.

1. Double click on the volume control icon in the system tray, that is on the right hand bottom side of the screen. Check if the microphone is muted.

2. Right click on the same icon, and select "adjust audio properties." You will now get a window that says Sounds and Audio Devices Properties. Click on the tab named voice on top of that window, and check what is selected as the voice recording device. Check in the drop down menu to change the device and use the "test hardware" option to test the mic.

3. Make sure your microphone is working fine. Other people are not hearing your music from your microphone, but from your system itself.

Get back if you have additional questions.

Sony vaio vgn-NR120E has no mic specially when u r on skype i can hear the caller but my voice is not heard by him...tell me the solutionWhat's your problem?

You're on a laptop and it's talking about a sound card?

If you can hear audio or the voice from the caller then you don't need a sound card.

Yes you can purchase an external mic and it just plugs into the mic port on your system. I think that might be why the caller can't hear you. All computers do not come with a built in microphone. And if you are skyping and using a web cam, all web cams don't have a built in microphone.

I am getting the voice from other end & my voice is not going

Mic issues can be tricky. Knowing what operating system you are using would help diagnose the issue.

First the simple things. Make sure your mic is plugged into the correct jack. It should be red. Second, you need to open your sound mixer and make sure your mic is not muted or the volume turned all the way down. Either of these will cause you not to be heard.

You can also open the sound settings in your control panel, it is the icon that looks like a speaker if you are using Vista/7. Under the recording tab, make sure you see your mic/headphones/etc (what ever you are using as a mic) in the list. Make sure it has a green check mark on it indicating it is the default device. You can then double click it and select the levels tab to ensure your volume is not all the way down on the mic. You can also click on the listen tab. Place a check in the listen to this device box and click apply. You should now be able to hear your own voice as you speak into the mic over your speakers. It gives you a way to troubleshoot the mic functions. Once you can hear your voice, remove the check and click apply again to return to normal.

Make sure you can hear your voice without Google Talk. It most likely is not the application causing your problem. If, however, your mic works on everything but Google Talk, then we need to do more troubleshooting. Let me know if this resolves your issue.

Doesn't pick-up sound

First I'd check the cable and make sure it's alright. Try another cable you know is good. If it still has low output unfortunately, it's probably the capsule. If the mic is new I'd send it in for warranty repair if not contact samson @ their website for repair info.

I bought a Logitech webcam and the sound won't come though. It states my input level is not high emough but I can't find it to change it please

My understanding is that a webcam is only a webcam not a webcam+mic (mic=microphone for sound to be input) unless your webcam has video and sound capabilities.

1. get a mic
2. if you webcam is supposed to be also a mic, (I have yet to see one of those myself) you should hook up the connector for the microphone (usually a a red trs plug/connector) to your pc.
3. make sure your have run the video/sound wizard of your instant message application to test your video, mic and speakers. (to see, talk and be heard and hear what the others are saying)

are you trying to hear what the other person is saying when having a video conversation?
1. check your speakers are properly connected, powered and turned on.
2. check your speakers (and mic aswell) are not muted (check your speaker icon on the system tray and check your volume controls by doing right and/or left click on the speaker icon on the system tray.
3. make sure your have run the video/sound wizard of your instant message application to test your video, mic and speakers. (to see, talk and be heard and hear what the others are saying)
4. make sure your sound adapter's drivers are installed and your device is working properly (check device manager by going to start>run> type devmgmt.msc the press enter and make sure that under sounds you don't have any ? (no drivers) or ! driver problem for your sound adapter.
