Question about Sony Cybershot DSC-T200 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Pics show up black

I dropped my sony cybershot dcs-s700 and now I can only view the pics that were taken before camera got damaged, any new photos show up as black images. Any fixes or should I just toss the camera and chalk it up to clumsiness? I would be willing to take it apart if someone knows how, Im just afraid I wont remember how to get it back together

Camera is already fried / damaged so take it apart and do some research on lens specially on shutter built in lens mechanism.

If camera is dropped, any brand any model, that will be damaged. If I drop my camera I should accept my mistake and I should not blame brand or any one.
DSC-S700 is not costly unit as it is low end model. You can buy another Sony camera and avoid to dropping it.
    Good luck.

How to copy pics to pc?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

LCD screen not on when camera on?

You hit the EVF/LCD button near the "eye hole". When this is pressed it will cycle viewing through either the optical viewfinder or the LCD screen. This display is controlled independantly on each of the modes: shooting, or viewing. This is so you can set the camera to view pics before taking them from the optical viewfinder and view pics once taken from the LCD or vice-versa.

Try this procedure, while pushing power button ON, turn lens clockwise or anticlockwise with littel force. Please remember, don't turn the lens with much force because it can be damaged easily.

Drowned Sony Cybershot S650

Hi Tc77,

Your camera can be fixed but it will be expensive to change the lcd screen your best bet is to buy a new camera as with a new camera your can get accidental damage cover so if anything like this happens you now the camera can be fix or replaced this is just a suggestion of option.
