Ok take the top off the agitator there is a cap carefully remove this cap and then some have a inner cap with a handle remove that also in side the agitator it has a 1/2" or 7/16" head bolt remove the bolt and then pull up really ******* the agitator. to replace dogs you have to break the taps holding them in not the agitator be careful

I need to remove the agitator to replace the agitator dogs but there is no bolt head to unscrew is there a special tool for this model 11022912101 series 90

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.22912101&pathTaken=partSearch

look at the diagrams for the agitator, basket and tub and you should see how the top components of the agitator fit.

See the part "Dog, agitator "

Remove the fabric softener unit, lift the top agitator cap (use a screwdriver) and you should see a plastic part in the center of the top agitator with a 1/2" square drive.

Remove the drive and lift off the top agitator. Turning it over you should see the 4 "dogs", replace these and the top agitator should turn in one direction only.

Replace the 1/2" drive, the cap and fabric softener unit and the top agitator should work.

Also see the following illustrated description of the above.

The agitator is slipping on our Kenmore 80 series toploader. I'm not sure how to remove it.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Look at the section on the Sears site for Agitator, basket and tub.

Assuming that only the top section of the agitator is "slipping, the problem points to the Agitator "Dogs"

See the following for how to replace them.

If it's not the "Dogs" see the following that has a section on how to remove the agitators and check the splines.

Replacing the agitator dogs in a Kenmore 80 series washer

Hi, Remove the cap on the agitator and then remove the inside cover. There is a 7/16" bolt under the inside cover. Remove the bolt and the agitator will lift out. Seperate the 2 pieces of the agitator and replace the dogs. You might have to use a flat blade screw drive and punch out the 4 tabs around the bolt hole in the agitator if this applies.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Kenmore Dryer 70 series washer agitator sounds like its skipping

Remove the center cap, or fabric softener dispenser (if installed) from the agitator center post. There should be another cap (used as an air gap) under the center post cap. Remove the cap and locate the agitator bolt. Using a socket and ratchet, hold the agitator still with one hand and loosen with other. The upper portion (called the auger) should lift off, first. Then, grasp the agitator by the flanges at the bottom of the wash tub and lift straight up. This will reveal the gearcase (transmission) shaft. the entire agitator slipping? Or, is it just the auger? If the auger is slipping, you may just need to replace the agitator dogs. The following link explains:

Read through the link provided and let me know if you still need assistance. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: If the dogs are worn and need replaced, you only need to remove the auger and not the entire agitator.

Kenmore 90 series agitation problem

suppose to not spin unitl the lid is closed( safety reasons) the reason for the "weak agitation " is a bad set of agitator dogs. by removing the center fabric softener cup, you can get to and unscrew the center shaft bolt7/16. after removing the bolt, the agitaor will remove and the agitator dogs canbe replaced. part number 80040.youll need to split the agitator top and bottom to insall them . they simply slide into place.

Agitator will not move unless you press down on it.

If the agitator is slipping, you may have worn out agitator dogs. Yes, there is such a thing. These are small plastic clips that act in the manner of a clutch for the agitator. The following link explains:

The link also explains how to remove the agitator. If you require addtional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Kenmore 90 series washer

most likely the agitator dogs are bad. if the agitator engages clockwise and free spins counter clockwise they are good, if it slips they are bad. remove the bolt in the center of the agitator, take off cap or dispenser and remove the inner cap first. pull out the agitator, put on the floor, stand on the base of the agitator and pull up on the upper part to separate, take out the dog holder and replace dogs. Most appliance repair shops should have part on hand for about 5-6 dollars. part number 80040-fsp.
