This is a Tv, not a monitor. This is a TV LCD AOC model: L42H761. The issue is random, I already leave the Tv disconnected for one day and still failing, never presented a problem before, this is the first time, the issue is that suddenly the Tv start increasing the volumes to the top and I cannot decrease it, when I try it will immediately increase again. Any idea of how I can fix it?

SOURCE: can't increase & decrease the volume

Double check your connections. Still not working fine. Remove the input jack connector and try to touch or hold the tip of the connector, also adjust the volume of the speaker, you should heard loudly the 60 hertz sound of your body signal. Otherwise you have a defective amplifier in the speaker system.

SOURCE: TV volume increases by itself and doesn't decrease or respond to the remote control

Apparently this seems to be a known issue for this model. I called Phillips and they did not even bother asking me to try things like switch off and on again etc...They just said they are going to send someone to pick it up and fix it. I would suggest to everyone to do the same since it has to be free of charge because the problem appears in pretty much every tv set of this model.

SOURCE: volume control appears on screen uncommanded and cannot be sent away

I had exactly the same problem. The volume up button was constantly on, causing the on screen display to be permanently displayed. Here is the solution to fix it. This will also work for any other front panel buttons that are misbehaving.

Note: If you monitor is still under warrantee, don't try and fix it yourself - just send it back.

If you open your monitor you will find a small circuit board with a row of microswitches mounted on it. This is the circuit that's causing the problem.

To open your monitor you will need to remove the stand (one plastic cover that unclips by hand and 4 screws that can be removed with a philips screwdriver). This will then reveal two additional countersunk screws that need to be removed.

You can now remove the front cover. There are 4 clips at the base of the cover that can be removed by hand. You then need to pry the cover off, starting at the corner next to the power button. This is really quite stiff and you need to use a reasonable amount of force. Don't worry about the loud cracking sound as each clip along the side releases.

Once the cover is removed you will see the circuit board with the microswitches staring you in the face.

This board needs to be replaced but if you want to fix the problem immediately here is what I did.

Disclaimer - Proceed at your own risk from here on in.

Plug your monitor back into the power and reconnect to your PC. Make sure it's on and still showing the same problem.

The curcuit board unclips and there is a 7 pin connector that also can be unclipped. Remove the board and undo the connector. You don't need to switch off the power.

After the board has been removed for a few seconds, the on screen display that was permanently visible should disappear.

Now I temporarily disabled the malfunctioning button by bending the associated pin on the connector 90 degrees and then reattaching the connector.

How do you know which pin is associated with which button. Trial and error. Simply bend down a pin, and reattach the connector. If the problem persists, unplug and try the next pin.

When you've found the correct pin, straighten the others and reattach the connector.

Clip the curcuit board back in, making sure the connecting cable is clear and doesn't get pinched.

Reassemble your monitor and you're good to go.

The next step is to order a new circuit board from Philips. These should be really cheap (I hope) and you now know how to fit it yourself.

I'm going to try ordering one tomorrow.

i think that there is a shorted buttons or in normally close position, try to press each buttons slowly and you will feel something that is ticking if one of the buttons does not tick it is damage it is in normally close position that will be the cause of the problem. specially check the volume button.

The cause of the problem is that the switch of your tv is dirty when cleaning it you must be familiar to the unit and the parts you will remove to prevent any damage you can use a contact cleaner, when applying a contact cleaner you must only spray it to the switch. Consult a expert technician to do it for you actual.

How do I increase the volume on my Nokia 1661?

There are 2 types of volume in your nokia phone that you can increase or decrease.

The first one is the ring tone volume. You can either increase or decrease your ring tone volume by pressing the menu key then go to settings, go to profile, select any desired profile go to personalise go to ringing volume, then increase or decrease by using the navigation button to the right or left.

The second way is to increase or decrease the volume of the speaker of your phone which i think is the cause of your question (this volume enables you to hear clear and loud the person on the other phone). You increase or decrease the volume by making a call, as soon as the call starts ringing, press the navigation key to right to increase the volume or to the left to decrease the volume.

Volume and menu does not display

I had this problem on my Aquos (LC-46D62U). It was NOT a hardware problem. I recommend turning off the television. Next unplug the television for 5 to 10 seconds. This resets something for the television. Plug it back in and turn on the television. You should now be able to get your volume and other on-screen displays.
