Frigidaire Front Load Washer keeps going out of balance

It appears the wide rubber gasket/seal around the front of the washer door has been torqued out of place. The basket itself spins fine, how ever, is out of balance. Model number GLTF1670AS0

my new front load washer is out of balance in the tub. When the last spin cycle goes into effect, it acts possessed and walks!

  • cbreezejo Apr 02, 2009

I checked the rubber seal around the tub and it also seems to be off the track.....the darn thing sounds like it's coming thru the wall during the spin cycle. How can I get the seal back on the drum?? I'm a woman so if you have any ideas, please keep it simple!!!!!

Hitchhiker, you don't have to remove the front of the washer. The original boot was glued in areas around the door. They came out with a new design because of water leakage on the bottom. The new kit, part number 5303937187 comes with a spring that holds it on to the panel. You can do one or two things, if you don't have the leaking problem, glue the boot back on. Or you can order the new kit, it comes with instructions and replace the whole boot. Check it out, it might be covered under service flash #26-758BR. In any event this job can be done by leaning the washer back against the wall to make room between the tub and front panel. You are going to need an assist, it's better with 2 people. most likely something is stuck in the pump. it could also be that you are not using high effiency detergent.

SOURCE: FRIGIDAIRE FRONT LOAD WASHER

I too had the same problem, I closed the soap tray and a magnet popped out and got stuck to the door. Same problem with it acting like it was going to start and then beeped. This is where the magnet goes, just stick it back in, its held in with pressure (barely) :)

I took the whole control panel off to locate the magnetic reed switch, then just reverse engineered where the magnet is supposed to go on the soap drawer.

SOURCE: ATF6000ES front load washer won't spin during regular cycle.

clogged filter will cause this error code. I have the same washer and the filter located inside the rubber boot attached to the pump was full of junk. there was enough room for water to get thru but not enough for full volume. clean it out and it should work. note : its a pain to get the boot back on so be ready and take it slow. this worked for me.

Remove door gasket

There is a spring that goes all the way around the door, just under the edge of the gasket. If you remove that spring starting at the bottom of the door, you should be able to remove the gasket for replacement

Black marks appearing on towels. Look like marker, smudged.

hi.
it could be the seal on the front of the drum starting to break down.
clean the seal at the front of the drum that seals the door. then rub a white cloth/towel around the seal

if there are any marks left by the seal then the rubber compouds are starting to break down and the seal needs to be replaced.

please feel free to ask for detailed instructions on changing this seal if you need them

My frigidaire washer will not spin, why

You will need to check the door switch you should have 1500 ohms no less than 1400. To check remove wire ring from door seal carefully peal rubber seal off flange. The remove 2 screws holding switch and carefully take out. Check with ohmeter. This is a fairly common problem with that model. For the lowest price on parts go to www.appliancehelponline.com

Check the big rubber seal around the door for any holes or tears. Had the same problem, my husband had a screw in his pocket that torn a hole in the gasket.

Clothes coming out with stains they didn't have - looks like oil/grease

Front load greasy residue ,

Due usually to much detergent in each load, use smaller amounts.
To much detergent degrades the rubber seals and gaskets and rubber seal also in some front loaders around the door too!

Over the life of a front loading washer the seal/gasket degrades
largely due to the chemicals in the detergent as well as bleach.

Most gaskets/seals get hard and brittle therefore the over the life of a front loading washer
the seal/gasket degrades largely due to the chemicals in the detergent as well as bleach.

....please rate this ....thanks
