best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Sound and picture are two seperate things unless you use an HDMI cable so lets just deal with the picture first
After you do the connection, you need to tell your laptop to present the picture to the TV.
1- On your keyboard, one of your function keys (F1, F2 etc.) will have a short cut for this as a secondary functionality. Check for the function key that has an icon on it that looks like a screen (usually it is f4 or f7). Then hit the key that activates your secondary functions and the key you just identified. This should activate the VGA output and in most cases will also give you a configruation screen (where you can select it as a secondary display, dual display etc.)
If this short cut doesnt work, you can try this
2- Make sure VGA cable is connected on both ends. Right click your desktop on the computer and select "Properties". On the new dialog, select the last tab "Settings". Click the drop down box under "Display" and you should see the TV as the secon option, select it. Then select the check box that says "Extend my display...", click Apply and OK. This should expand your screen to the TV, you should now be able to drag windows from your laptop's screen to your TV's.
Good luck! (Instructions on option 2 are for XP, if you use Vista let me know and I will look up the terminology for that)

SOURCE: I have acer travelmate 240-
You need the specific firmware driver for the dvd-drive.
Go to My Computer and right click on the disk drive icon, then click properties, then click the Hardware tab. Look in the list for the model type/number and then enter that (exactly) into Google, followed by the word 'driver'.
You should be able to find a link somewhere to download the driver. Once you have downloaded the driver, you may have to unzip it into a folder. Then go to Control Panel, and System, and Device Manager.
Find the disk drive listing and click on it, it will drop down a listing for the generic disk driver that is currently being used. Double click on that and click the Driver tab. Click update driver, and choose the option for letting you find the driver on your machine. Navigate to the folder that you unzipped it to and double click on the driver. Press enter and it will install. Maybe need to reboot.
Good luck Anir

If you know how to let it work with an LCD or DLP projector then all you have to do is set the selector of the your LCD TV to the RGB or computer input. If not, then you have to hit the function key in order to activate the secondary port for the external display of your laptop.
