This error identifies a problem with the printers "internal language". Many times the firmware is just outdated and needs to be updated.
Since this firmware is vital in the communication of components, outdated firmware will cause miscommunication such as error messages or weird symptoms.
I would recomend having a tech update the firmware since you really need to know what you are doing.

I just fixed the same problem with a compter where I work at. All I had to do was open up the print spooler, delete all current print jobs still on the computer. Then, do a hard reboot by unplugging the machine, wait 15-30 seconds, then plug it back in and let it boot up.
After, it's booted up, completely, go through the current print jobs still stored on the printer, and cancel each one. After that, do another hard reboot, by unplugging it, wait another 15-30 seconds, and plug it back in. After it boots up, again, it should be working fine, and you should be able to print again.
I hope your issue is as simple as this, and you are able to fix it, as I did.
