An LD code n a Kenmore machine means Long Drain. Check the water inlet hoses for kinks or clogs. check the filter for coins or other junks. Make sure the drain hose isn't blocked, restricted or kinked.
Pressure Switch failure - remove the hose at the top of the machine, and blow in it to clear moisture/buildup. If not - replace the Pressure switch.
LD = LONG DRAIN
"F21" (AKA SD) is a Long (SLOW) Drain error (LD). If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:
1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2. 2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged. 3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running. 4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris. To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions
Well error Ld means - Long drain - The Ld error code indicates a long drain. It is displayed when water level does not change while the drain pump is running. Anyway you can please check out the following steps - Is the drain hose kinked or clogged? Check the drain pump for clogs. Is it running? Is the drain hose height greater than 95 inches? Is the pressure switch hose connection from the tub to the machine control board pinched or plugged? Do you see excessive suds in the basket? Are you using high efficiency (HE) detergent?
You can try to reset your washer by Pressing STOP/CANCEL. Please check out all the above steps, post comments if further you have the same problem.......
Long Drain Ld flashes when the water level does not change after the drain pump is on. Is the drain hose clogged? Is the drain hose height greater than 96′? Is the pump running? If not, see TEST #7, page 13.
The "LD" or "long drain" code usually indicates a drain or pump related issue. It's not only if the water drains, but how quickly it drains. I would unplug the machine and check the drain line for kinks or obstructions and check the pump. Remove the hoses from the pump and use a flashlight to look into the suction port. Look for anything clogging the hoses or pump (like the occasional stray sock) and check the pump impeller. Make sure there are no broken or missing blades and that the impeller spins freely. If any blades are broken/missing or if you cannot get the impeller to spin freely, the pump is defective. Hopefully it is just something clogging a drain line, the pump, or there is a jammed impeller. Really sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.
* The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
