Question about Bose Acoustimass 10 III System

1 Answer

Sound comes only fron one rear speaker

Hi i have a sony receiver, bose am 10 III series connected to that. I have had this am 10 II series for 5 years now, no issues. I have a sony-46 HD tv and a Blu ray dvd connected to this receiver. When i play dvd or TV programs via my receiver for surround sund effect, only one rear surround sound speaker works for me.

It used to work earlier, no issues. for past 6 months i am having this issue. I checked the connections on my receiver. it is ok. both the rear jewel speakers (surround) are in working condition, but audio either comes only out of right rear or left rear speaker based on me switching the connection on my bose sub woofer where i have connected the RR & LR jacks, I think this problem is only on the sub woofer side. i do not know how to handle this. Can anybody help

Thanks

Suresh

Bose cinemate speaker system suddenly gets very loud why?

If the unit is around 5-6 years old or less, you have a bad Rotary Encoder. It is an input to the microprocessor IC(a computer within your Bose). If you would like to inquire about repairing your Bose, please visit me at my website, audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me directly from the site.

The rear left and right channel has a audio output ic problem, first check rear speaker wires for shorts, if okay! the system will need to be assessed for repair costs.

Get a separate amp for the 901's and the rest falls into place.

1,2, 5) Place the 901 Active EQ between the pre/main front OUT of the receiver and the TFM-55X. Attach the 901's. Keep track of the jumpers you remove from the receiver. Or replace the jumpers with RCA splitter cables so you still have pre/main connection but can share the output with the TFM.

3) Pinnacle subwoofer (self-powered?) to the subwoofer out of the receiver.

4) Bose (AMS???) 5. As surrounds on the receiver. Place the sub module toward the rear so it mates sonically and directionally with them.

What? No center speaker? I'd get something more robust with bass capabilities, like a pair Bose 301 series 1's because the tweeters face in one direction only.

Except for the amps and the cube stuff that is essentially what I have. 6.1 with full-range speakers everywhere.

Adding Spaekers

If it's an original 321 system (series 1) then it has an audio output on the back. (via RCA jacks) You would still need an amp or receiver to connect the speakers to.. (unless they're powered speakers)
If it's a 321 series II or 321 series III- it does not have an audio output.
If the system has a DVD tray right in the middle of the media center, then it's a series 1.
Otherwise, you'd have to get a 1/8 splitter to come from your Mac's headphone output. (still- you will need an amp/receiver or powered speakers to have both 'rooms' playing the same thing from your computer)

Can I connect my Bose Acoustimass 5 - Series II to Bravia unit?

Yes, there should be no issues using your Bose speakers with your Sony receiver. Sony has a "hookup guide" to help here -
