I have a Yamaha YSP 800 Sound projector connected to a Samsung TV. All sound goes up to the tv, and down to the projector through the TV. A week or so ago I started noticing that the sound will randomly and sometimes frequently drop for half a second or so. I isolated components until determining that the sound is fine on the TV, only when I use the YSP does this happen. Any fixes? Would a reset be in order?
-   Same problem, same setup, PCM indicator light flashes as sound drops out for the second or two. Happened when I 1st got the unit, went away, came back. Think it has something to do with analog conversion. I'm only using the optical cable. May help to use the red & white analog cables.-   jsicker

The Yamaha YSP-800 will not turn on. There is no evidence of powering on at all. Plug and fuse are OK. This seems to be a common problem cropping up out of warranty. Any solutions?

this unit came on by itself in the middle of the night with full blast sound...scared us! No one else was around and we were on another floor of the house. Ever heard of this? An electrical or wiring issue? (no other components came on) thanks!
