SOURCE: Brother MFC-620CN print head clogged

Open up amd release blue stay at bottom by pressing edges inward and pulling slightly forward. Remove the 4 screws, 2 small plastic covers and the earth screw. Pull out the ribbon connector near the USB plug. Unplug the 2 white and one red connectors, noting how the cables fit in. Fully open the lid and pop the scanner part off. Remove all the ink cartridges. Now using a flat screwdriver unclip the top of the base all the way round and lift off. The print head is now accessible. Rotate the white paper feed cogs to release the print head. Slide it all the way to the right and remove it by tilting the back edge upwards. You mow have access to the print head!!!!

SOURCE: Unable to Init. 46

Your Ink Absorber box is full. The machine cleans its print nozzles by blasting them out with ink; it collects that waste ink and pumps it into a plastic box filled with thick, felt pads. After a certain number of cleaning operations, it decides it's not safe to squirt more ink into the box and gives this Error 46. Replacing the ink absorber box and flushing box and resetting the purge counter is fairly complex. Maybe someone has instructions all typed out, but your best bet is probably to take it to a Brother tech.

SOURCE: Print Brother Mfc-290c Error Print unable 4F

Hi there
With some Brother printers you can try this.

Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, and then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, hopefully without the annoying cannot clean message.

Some times this happens because of using cheap compatible ink cartridges if this is the case change the ink cartridges.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Brother mfc 420 cn

if you have an error 41 the machine wont print any more due to a short circuit in the print head.

plz check error message.

anyway, if you have received error 41 you need a new printhead or better (because its cheaper) a new mfc.

sorry!

Paul,

did you had a paperjam the days before?

The encoder strip which gives the print head the position is out of position. It has to be fixed into the ph.

Error code

and even if you did get rid of error 51 that you have created, you will find that you still cant print in black, original problem is the print head is stuffed probally from dodgy non gen ink running threw it and the fix is to replace head. I don't know who is telling all you brother mfc owners to clean your print head but your paddling up the wrong creek, these heads are electronic deivices that dont take kindly to cleaning, they are not the same as other brands. Send it back. The printhead voltage is innnnn disorder. Netxt will be Error 41 (Every Error starting with 4 means probs with printhead and in 99,9% the head has to be changed and cant be fixed!)
