First disc won't install - StarCraft[BW]

I have the first StarCraft installed and running just fine, but when I go to install BroodWar, it'll ask me to "Insert CD labeled StarCraft Disc 1". When I put the first CD back in and click OK nothing will happen. - Running on Windows 7 Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Installation Freezes

Is there any possible way for you to see if it installs correctly on another computer? If it does then the problem doesn't have anything to do with the discs however if the installation error happens on another computer warranty will cover the replacement of the discs for you. I am not at my Vista computer right now but I know there is an option to run in XP compatibility mode, if you can turn that on, by right clicking and going into the disc/program properties, then you may be able to install it. Of course, that would only work if your on Vista, although XP has a compatibility mode for 98/me/2000 which might work. That's all that I can think of right now.

SOURCE: When I install Starcraft, it ends up as a failure to install

Go to Shop.blizzard.com. Setup an account. After you do, you can register your cd keys and just download the game so that you don't need to use the disks at all.

My battle chest only came with starcraft disc one and the brood was expansion. What is disc 2?

In the new versions of the battle chest, the installer installs both starcraft and brood wars. You only need one cd key, and when it asks for disk two it wants the brood wars disk

Patch Starcraft Broodwar to the latest patch (which removes the CD check), and ensure that your drivers are up to date

Starcraft Broodwar error "script 4849664 does not exist"

If you are using Vista, try to disable your firewall and run program as Administrator. Windows firewall might be preventing the program from loading or installing correctly.

Problem hosting games on sc broodwar

Hi!

Depending on your router, you should forward the ports, as detailed here:

http://portforward.com/cportsnotes/battlenet/battlenet.htm

That should let you host!

Good Luck!

Video Problems

Hello!

Maybe you need to install the correct driver of your video card. But first update your motherboard driver, if you have CD/DVD utilities enlclosed in your computer from the vendor then you should reinstall that in series installation. after that installation restart the system and then install the updated driver or the current CD/DVD utilities of your geforce 8600 GT and again restart the system after installation. and then set the monitor display to the required display of your games.

May this help, best regards, melnavz
