SOURCE: The color is distorted there

The tv problems u are decribing are 50/50 it could be the main board tv Tuner signal board is dying and shorting out or the tv LCD screen panel itself are leaking radiation and slowly shorting out.Tries websites like, to buy a refurbish main board tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.50/50 could get this tv fixed by replacing this main board tv Tuner signal board. If after u replaced the board and still have the same problems, than u know for sure it is the tv LCD screen is dying and leaking radiation and slowly shorting out.Than u know for sure this tv is not worth as a whole tv anymore, now only as salvages tv for it PCB circuits boards only.U can return the main board tv Tuner signal board to the dealers.Get some money back, but must lose some money, like subtraction like from the shipping and handleling cost and the useually the 10% restocking fee.

SOURCE: my 42pf7220a phillips hdtv lost

This is not a problem with either of the two boards you have mentioned. The loss of picture in a plasma is caused by faulty sustain boards. In most Philips plasmas I have seen, both the X-sus and Y-sus boards have to be replaced to solve this. The cost is about 150$ for both boards

yap! for CRT TVs with ring of colors, do the following to solve the problem; find a normal magnet from a retired speaker , just switch on the TV and while the TV is On, hold the magnet about 15CM from the screen while moving it arround the whole screen area. when it starts to degause/to be clear just move the magnet around the screen while moving further away from the TV screen let say 20CM, 25CM , 35 cm etc.

Screen is displaying Red background color with glittery pixels effect around the figures

Please change the T-CON board, if it did not fix the problem, you may have a defective LCD Panel.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Tv show power v3.05 moving around screen no picture

Problem is in either power supply or the Y-Sustain board.

The Y-Sustain is a relatively large board out of which go connections to the side of the display; it's therefore closer to either the left or the right side of the display, has at least one rather large heat sink on it and fat power cables connecting it to the main power supply.

Often there are fuses on that board - one or more. Check those.

if they are blown you can try to replace them, but expect them to blow again - usually the whole board needs to be replaced.

often that *needs* to be done in a service center as there are some adjustments to be made after replacement.

Hoping this will help in solving the problem....

Rings on outside edge of screen and color of entire screen is green, blue and purple

Your TVs Degausing coil is not working. Degausing coil is one, which fitted around the picture tube internally, to demagnatize it at each time you switch on the tv. if you are using your TV without switching it off by its mains switch, and turn it to an other direction, this effect will occcur. You just switch off the TV by its main switch, and leave it for about 1/2 an hour, and then switch it on, and see whether it helps or not.
If not, the degausing posistor inside fitted on the circuit board of the TV, has to be replaced. It can be located on the power supply input section of your TVs circuit board. Ok.

Color picture jumps in and out of normal color mode . . .

You have bad solder connection in or around the Jungle IC and or color processing Circuits. Most commonly the area is the color cyrstal, located on the main board.

My toshiba 50h72 tv is having a problem with convergence. My husband moved the TV to a different location and when we turned it on a red line appeared around the pictures on the screen and the red will not...

I do not know repair rates in your area but I do this repair in the home for around $350 + service call rate. You can save money if you pull the board and take to a repair shop to have them replace the IC's. These are large STK392-110 (stamped on them) IC's mounted to large heat sinks. I use upgraded IC's STK392-560 as there are too may knock off 110's out there that don't last or in some cases - don't work at all.

Unplug the TV, remove the speaker grill and cover behind it. There will be a small 5" x 8" board near the front of the TV with large heat sinks. This is the board that needs to be removed. There will be several plugs that need to be unplugged from the board and one that runs back through the wireing harness that plugs in deeper in the set (remember where it came from for reinstallation).
