Question about Garmin Nuvi 350 Car GPS Receiver
SOURCE: Nuvi 350 System Software Missing
Try this: Hold the power buuton down, you will see on the lower screen the word "Pre Booting - ". Keep holding the power button for about 60 second, then you will see on the lower screen "Booting".
This time, release power button; system will reboot and loading map... again.
I got the same problem, after research on the web. Nick 99990_0 had post this solution on (his Nuvi 660) but it work for my Nuvi 350 too. Good luck.

You have to power the unit via the mount by either using the cigar charger in the car or snap off the mount from the ball and socket and power it via the mains adapter.

SOURCE: I HAVE A Garmin Nuvi 255W
First, what version of maps do you have? 2009? If so, there's no reason to update at this time.
To register, just go to https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/marketing/register.htm and create an account. You'll need to create a user name and password and then enter in your units serial number which is located on the decal on the bottom rear of your unit.
Once you have an account established, you can then shop the Garmin store and buy whatever you want.

SOURCE: Garmin Nuvi 660 lost Europe maps
Eventually managed to speak to a man at Garmin who confirmed that it was not loading any European maps because it didn't have enough spare memory to load them all. He said that he would email me instructions for freeing up sufficient memory, the email never arrived but I decided to delet all the voice languages that were no use to me and all the other language 'help' files and tried again - it worked.
At no point did I get a 'insufficiant memory' warning, which would have been very helpful, nor is there any guidance for how much memory will be required when embarking on the update. Take note Garmin...

SOURCE: garmin nuvi 5000 wont turn on.
Your nuvi 5000 does NOT have a internal battery and that means that you cannot operate it unless it is connected to a 12 volt power source. Connecting it to your computer via USB allows you to install map updates, check for firmware updates, etc, but you will not be able to use it as a gps while it is connected to the computer. There is nothing wrong with your gps.
To use your gps in the home you need to purchase a 12 volt adapter, there are several types, plug the adapter into your wall outlet and connect your gps to it. If you can sit near a window it will help in picking up the satellite signal. Just keep in mind that you cannot connect the 12 volt power supply and use the usb cable at the same time. Enjoy your gps.
