ScanWizard 5 shuts down when I try to start scanner

Hi, When I open up ScanWizard 5 on my Mac (OS X Leopard) the program starts to load and the Scanner makes its little "I am ready" noise but as soon as the OCR reader portion of ScanWizard starts up I get an error message and everything stops. We have tried downloading the advised software multiple times but no luck getting what was a great scanner up and running again. Please help!

SOURCE: PROBLEMS WITH SCANNER

I work for a book bindery, and we have 6 9800XL all of them have had to be replaced twice for that same problem as well as scanlines, and will have to be replaced again fairly soon as they are starting to develop problems again...my advice is go with another brand like epson.  They are expensive, but it's cheaper in the long run to buy one of them than to replace a Microtek 5 times

SOURCE: can't uninstall microtek 5900 scanner

This is a funny problem. Try & locate SCanwizard 5 files and delete them. Complete the registry deletion as suggested. Run scandisk. Install and uninstall Scanwizard 5.

Medion flatbed scanner 90093

The message you are getting is not the actual problem. Clearly your PC has enough memory to do scanning, are you sure medion scanner is compatible with 64bit OS? could you try this on a 32bit machine?

Driver for mac os 10.7.5

The last Mac OS X version officially supported by that scanner is Mac OS 10.4 Tiger. You *MAY* be able to get it to work under Mac OS 10.5 Leopard or 10.6 Snow Leopard but otherwise there is NO way to get it to work with 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9 since these are Intel only platforms (the scanner software is PowerPC PPC.) Your only option is to run a Windows XP virtual machine inside your Mac and to it that way. I can assist you with that if you like.

My new operating system doesn't recognize my scanner any longer but does do fine with the printer which are both the same machine. How do I fix that? I moved from Mac OX leopard to Mac OX snow leopard....

Hi,
Shortly after the world started upgrading to Snow Leopard, reports began emerging that many Hewlett-Packard printers were incompatible with the upgrade. So, you can wait till you get the updated driver which is compatible with Mac Snow leopard.
Good Luck!

Forget about the Minolta software. It's buggy at best with OS X. Use VueScan instead. A free trial is available so you can test it before you commit to buying it.
