The wires should be grey, orange and black, purple, and a black wire. The purple goes to purple, grey to gray. The orange and black goes to the small black wire on your car harness and the black goes to the bigger black.

I have a T12 fluorescent light fixture and replaced the bulbs and ballast. I have double checked all the wiring connections. I get the bulbs to light when I move the bulbs, but only for a second.

Your description sounds like the connectors for the tubes. Also RECHECK wiring. Different on newer ballasts. See below...

Turn off fixture, unplug, or deactivate fuse...

Pull out bulbs and the tin fixture cover/reflector.
Extract the bulb connector. Go to hardware and buy 4 more, and just replace them. The connections fail where the wire connects and the rigours of bulb replacements damage this piece. TONS easier to get new pieces.

ALSO!!!! many new (fancy schmancy) ballasts WIRE UP completely differently from the old ballast. Follow the wiring diagram on the NEW ballast. This detail trips up many.

I am replacing the 3 speed fan switch in a ceiling fan. Upon removal of the old switch (due to a cracked/broken screw port), I noted the secific wire and color that was located in each of the four...

Use a continuity tester on old switch.
There will be 1 main wire that connected to power >>> power flows through this wire to the switch and feeds the other 3 wires > each time you click switch, power will flow to one of the other three wires

The do the same test on new switch. Match up wires accordingly.

If you don't have a multimeter, buy inexpensive continuity tester at hardware store.
Continuity tester is basically a flashlight battery and flashlight bulb that lights up when the circuit is closed

The best thing to do is go and spend about 5 to 10 dollars and get a wire adapter from radio shack or any parts stores. It makes it real easy you can wire everything in your house walk out plug it in and away you go.

I think you are right on with your relay comment. All the relays are an integral part of the control timer assembly (part number WB27X10215). Generally, you will be able to transfer the clock overlay from the old control to the new one, so no need to order the overlay. Not very difficult to replace.

hi steve

do you have acess to some thing that can show me a photo of what you need assists in or the page you are looking at so i can review the same document you are viewing so we can determ what they want. there must be some different abour v1.1 and v2.1, the size of the board or the board layout, the design, msi configuration is different, power supply location, or the high-th maybe the differance, the list can go on to infinity, set the board in front of you, map out the connection, trace the old wire pro the old equipents, see if they have the same amount connections and plug ins, if they are different than find out which items have different connector contact the manufacture ask for the engineering department and or wirining diagram layout, find out which wires color are used and which one core a late with the new board and remove the old ones, i had a system that had a different speaker pin layout and trace all the wires for the new set of wires, the old one had two 2 ground wires as the new one only had i ground wire i had splice the two 2 ground wires together.
if you need more help please contact me or leave me a phone # where i can call you and i will help you figure out the new design.
