Make sure your cables are not touching each other, and/ or that they have been inserted into the right terminals on the speakers. This should rectify the problem.

SOURCE: sony Mhc GS100 want power up

The unit is in protect mode because a problem was deteected in the final output stage of the amplifier. The pop in the speakers is a god indication that there is DC current in the output stage. This is not a good thing. This is a relatively common failure of all receivers and can easily be fixed by any shop that does audio repair. Expect a parts cost in teh $30-$40 range.

SOURCE: My Sony stereo system keeps

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Hold down the power button on your monitor, with the power on, for approx. 25-30 seconds and the monitor will shut down for good. When you will start it again, wait at least an hour, the message will be gone and the monitor will work as intended.

When trying to power up hear 3 beeps and camera turns off.

Make sure the batteries are good and in right. If it keeps doing it you might be having a problem with your lens opening up and staying open, I had a camera that did that to me, and the lens had been knock and wouldnt open properly, check that out. The lens was out of range from normal and would automatically shut down

Worth fixing?

Open the cassette deck and use a pen to push the heads down. After this, it would probably work better to avoid using the deck.
