I just purchased the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router. I tried to install it on my computer...got to step 4 with the setup from the cd included with the routher, but an error message comes up that says the internet can not be accessed and to check the configuration of all my cables. The cables are in the correct spots (according to the set-up cd, but it still won't work. My internet provider is windstream and I am working with their modem. Any suggestions???
Thank you.

- Yes, I had the ethernet from my modem box to the router and the included blue ethernet from the router to my laptop. I just got the Linksys router and no, I haven't ever been able to get it to work. If I leave the router out of the equation and just hook up to the windstream modem (SpeedStream 4200), then I can access the internet with no problem, but when I include the router and go through the disk set-up and get to step 4 (pluging the router power cord in) and hit next, it searches for the internet connection, but is not able to connect.
Is the ethernet from your modem box going to the router?

-   I have the same problem. I contacted my ISP and they ran the diagnostics on my modem and on my router. They had me reset the router which I did, and then the ISP informed me that the ISP was communicating with my modem, my router and my computer. But, when I try to set up the network, I'm told the router can't find the internet .... which is really odd ... since I can access the internet (although it's slower than I'd like, but still a reasonable speed) and the ISP server seems to be able to talk to it via the cable modem. The router is a combination wireless and wire router -- I have my printer using one of the physical connections. Currently there is no other computer networked (except for my main computer) on my 'network.' Any suggestions? My router is a LInksys WRT54G broadband router with 4 port switch.-   thegrislybar

-   I'm having the same problem :( I have used my router before when I lived at a different location. But now, I hooked my Verizon box to my Linsys, got everything hooked up (correctly) and then it tells me the internet cannot be accessed. Someone help!

You must connect a network cable ( cat5 - not a cord ) from your PC to the router at that point of the set-up making sure you connect it to the right router port.
