The on l y way I've fixed this problem is by using a universal remote control. Using the input button, you should be able to switch it back to whatever mode you need. Hopefully your television is a major manufacturer.
Check if the remote is in TV position, that is, because most of the remote controllers have the feature that you can program them for use with another devices. Make shure that one button that says "TV" in pressed and released once before you try to change any function on the TV.
Be advised that Mintek Digital Inc., the company that has sold portable DVD players, DVD Flat Screen TVs has filed bankruptcy in Federal Court. What this means to consumers is that your product(s) warranties that are within your purchase date are no longer valid. Anyone purchasing any Mintek products with claims of warranties are being mislead. For further information, contact the California Attorney General's Office, the Better Business Bureau or telephone 301-986-666 or email at email@example.com to seek compensation. Remember, if you buy any Mintek product, you are buying a product that cannot be supported or warranted. You are on your own since September 9, 2007.
As far as I know, no regular universal remote will work with the mintek TV/DVD's.
I have heard that the "Kameleon" remote, from radioshack works with them.
I had the same problem, so I ordered a replacement original remote from ebay for $20. It was the RC-600 for mine (DTV-265 26" LCD/DVD)
