Ok I bought the computer from someone so when I try to do the system restore it says please enter your password & I don't know that password just the one I have when u first reboot the laptop. Is there something I can do for that?

The obvious would be ask the person you purchased it from for the password. Another is to do a system recovery, that will recover the machine to it's Factory settings, like the dat it came out of the box. The answer in this forum should help, You never mentioned the Model of the Acer One? :http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...

SOURCE: unmountable boot volume

hi,

-this can be a hardware problem or a software problem
-run diagnostics first on the computer
-turn off computer; while the computer is off, press and hold the "Fn" key then press power at the same time to initialize the test
-if you find error message like 0142 - this is a hard drive failure; contact your manufacturer for replacing your hard drive
-if no error is found, it is a corrupted Windows; you need to reinstall Windows, ensure you consult local technician to back-up files before installation.

cheers!

Emachines E528 laptop won't start

Try to boot it from safety mode.
and try to restore your system first.
If the restoring is failed, boot safety mode again and back up your files.
If you can't boot your laptop from safety mode, use anti virus program CD like norton.
Mostly, your system is messed up by adwares, spywares, and virus.
If all things fail, you should check your HD.

The hard drive could be slightly faulty. Try this first.
To repair missing or corrupted system file/s, boot up with the Windows installation CD then -
Press R to repair when instructed.
Press 1 or Enter to repair the C:\Windows folder.
Then type chkdsk /r and then press Enter.
The repair process will take quite a long time.

Help! My Laptop Acer Aspire One stuck at window logo loading Anyone please, help my acer aspire one stuck at window xp logo loading. I try everthing in F8 button, it didn't work, even in safe mod

oh a fun one. Reset your bios to defaults. if that doesn't work then try a windows disk boot up. if that doesn't work you're screwed.

if you want any of your files from the computer first pull out the hdd buy a cord and transfer them to another computer.

AFTER YOU ON THE SYSTEM BEFORE WINDOWS STARTS KEEP PRESSING THE F8 KEY CONTINUEOUSLY. A MENU WILL APPEAR. SELECT SAFE MODE AND ENTER. WINDOWS WILL LOAD IN SAFE MODE. Try re-starting in safe mode, press F8 as its booting, assuming all goes well choose safe mode, this loads a windows shell. Using Accessories - System tools - System restore - Restore to a point prior to your problemsn.

I can not get my Acer Aspire 5920 to load after turning on.

Try to see if it will boot in safe mode, by pressing F8 while the laptop boots up. If it allows you to boot in safe mode, try to do a system restore when you know that laptop was working with no problems. You can do this by clicking on start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and choose a date and time when you know that the laptop was working with no problems. If this does not work or you cannot boot in safe mode (be aware that everything will look big in safe mode and when the computer reboots if asked how you want to start windows, choose start windows normally), try doing a recovery. This will restore your computer to the factory default settings when you purchased it. You can do this by booting the computer, when the acer screen appears hold down the ALT key and continuously press F10, this will open the recovery manager and you can restore it from there.

I hope this helps
