SOURCE: Printer making marks down the left hand side of every page

hello,

This sounds like the photoconductor units for both black and blue need to e replaced. Open the front of the printer like you are changing toner cartridges. On the front door parts that opens to you there will e four pieces, 1 for each color. Look at the one with blue on it and the one with black and look on the ends of these, they are the photoconductor units. I bet both of the colors have worn sections compared tothe magenta and yellow ones. The replacement part number is C53030X and you will need 2 of these. They have a life span just like toner and have to be replaced too.

I hope this helps,

You are right the drum needs to be replaced. the coating wears down and starts making marks I sell them for 55.00 complete or just the drum for 22.00 It's easy to install a new drum with a screw driver and a pair of needle nose pliers. steven 818-888-0006

My lexmark x544 gets a black line down the page when i put it in the tray feeder. What do I do?

Is the black mark in the same place on all print outs? If so, it could be that the paper feed rolls may be dirty.

I have lexmarks 260dn printer .it's DHCP is off .how to on it. plz help

This procedure requires that the printer to be communicating on the network. A temporary IP address may have to be set on the device to perform this procedure. If further assistance is needed, please contact Lexmark Technical Support.

1. Open the printer's web page or embedded web server.

2. Click on Configuration or Settings.

3. Click on the Network/Ports.

4. Click on TCP/IP.

5. Place on checkmark next to Enable DHCP.

6. Place a checkmark next to Enable AutoIP.

7. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Submit.

I have a X4270 fax machine. Whenever i send a fax the recipient says there is a black line running down the left side of the page. I changed ink cartridges but it did not help. Can it be fixed?

The X4270 has a pretty straightforward scan path. If you follow the instuctions on this link, you'll find that you can clean the white roller and scan lens with a lint free cloth and water. It will get rid of the mark....unless you've managed to do something ugly like run a staple through the machine (I did that on a laser and scored the drum....that sucked).

3 BLACK MARKS ON EACH PAGE ON RIGHT SIDE-HAVE CHANGED CARTRIDGE AND WIPED ROLLER

Remove the toner cartridge from the MFP and gently shake it back and forth five or six times. Then place it back in the printer. Print a test page.
If you have an extra cartridge try to replace the cartridge toner.

I'm getting black streaks down the left side of the paper. There is plenty of toner left in the cartridge. We've vacuumed out the printer, cleaned the drum - nothing helps.

black streaks the toner cartridge is leaking from the left side which is easy to check pull the tone and look at the gears on the left side to see if toner is present. if these gears have toner on them the cartridge is leaking replace it. check the fuser for wear marks on the hot roller which is the top roller when these get worn through the outer coating they will create black streaks

3-INCH WIDE VERTICAL LINES RUND DOWN LEFT SIDE OF FAX MACHINE

Do your incoming faxes have the same marks?
If not you might find that the scanning part of your machine has a dirty mark on the glass or that the unit has become faulty.
Try and take a copy from the machine and print from a report or any print from memory.
If you have the black lines on both then i'd suggest getting a new drum unit, if u have it only on the copy I would have a look at your scanner glass and see if there is a dirty mark on it. if not maybe call out an engineer as the scanner unit maybe faulty.
Need anymore help msg me.
