Get to your local Briggs and Straton dealer and he or she can help you with all your questions. You will need a special socket to remove the starter.

On the side of the ceremic panels, a piece has fallen off and the gas/heat is "spitting" out. this happens on the high selection only. are there replacements for the ceremic tiles? I have a wall...

It's time to clean the interior of the heater and replace the ceramic plaques. You can order the plaques ( I would replace all of them) from Master Distributors http://www.vanguardheaters.com/ However, the number your listed is the Serial Number, not the Model Number. The Model Number is on the side of the heater or on some metal tags that are attached to it. It should say, DESA International - Vanguard and have the Model Number and Serial Number on it, along with other vital info about the heater.

Hope this helps solve your problem.

I have a round vanguard propane heater model lpc25d and we need an ignitor dor it. can yu help

Not sure which part of the Ignitor you need so here are the 3 parts with part numbers, that make up the ignitor

These are the original DESA Part Numbers:

Ignitor Electrode Part # 097150-01
Piezo Ignitor w/Retaining Nut Part # 02445-01
Piezo Mounting Bracket Paart # 0975056-01

DESA Has been out of business for 3 years, but some parts are still available online through another company. http://www.desaparts.com/

Hope this helps you find what you need.

It sounds like your valves are out of adjustment. Your starter will bog down if it is out of adjustment and stop at the compression release.
So just take your valve covers off and set your valve lash to
.006 intake
.008 exhaust

Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 23Hp starter issues

take the starter off and give the bendix a realy good clean up and then splash some oil on it,,,they get very dry and sticky at times,,,you can test the starter uasing some jump leads stand on it though, dont hold it in your hands as it will spin out of your grip
hook the black lead to the caseing and tuch the red lead on the starter battery stud,,,it should spin up and strow the bendix out as soon as you take the lead off the bendix should slid back in if it dont oil it till dose also check the starter relay it could be sticking on holding the starter in

anytime you deal with small engine parts you MUST be armed with the engine model number, code and type. on late briggs these are on one of the valve covers.

REMOTE CONTROL DOESNT WORK

Some of the remotes that originally came with those units did not work or last very long. The manufacturer then later offered another remote to replace the first units. It looks like the model number you provided is a serial number, not the actual model number. I suggest that you contact Master Parts at 800-446-1446 with your model number (you should be able to find it directly on your unit with the serial number you provided) and they should have that replacement available for purchase. You also can find them on-line at www.masterparts.net. I hope this helps you!
