Bake mode will not work

I have a G.E. Profile XL44 Model # JGBP79. The bake mode will not work. The broil mode works and the self clean mode works. The igniter will come on in both modes. When setting the bake mode the igniter will not glow.

Is the bake igniter working ? There are two igniters one for bake and one for broil My guess is that the bake igniter is bad and only the broil igniter is working. part #WB2X9154.

RBS305 replaced thermal cutoff twice and again it won't come on bake or broil

Good Evening!
The self clean feature is causing your thermal fuses to fail or open. This is a safety mechanism that when open (bad) won't allow electricity to pass through any longer. The temperature in your oven exceeds what the components in your appliance can handle. If you want your oven to last it's longest, I would discontinue using that feature. If ever the control board or keypad on your oven by way of the self clean feature, we can help you with that. can help. Send all inquiries to . Thank you!

My bottom oven ( non-confection) will not go on-it will just sat 100 degrees but won't get warm or hot. Top seems to be working fine. This started after I tried to use the self cleaning feature.

If broil and bake do not work on your bottom oven, it is probably your lower thermistor or control board. If the bake works but broil doesn't or broil works and bake doesn't, it is very likely your heating element. With an ohmmeter, the heating elements should be about 40 ohms. Much higher or lower signals a problem. If you suspect the control board is the problem, they can be repaired quickly and reliably at

"door" appears when selecting bake or broil.

First take the door latch lever and push it to the left with moderate force. This may re-align the switches inside. If that does not correct the problem replace the door latch switch.

Bake button doesn't work even after ignitor replaced

While unlikely, the ignitor in theory could have damaged the ERC (main oven control) it is more likely you have a bad keypad. Try pressing and holding bake and broil pads at the same time for 5 seconds and see if the display shows SF (will look like 5F). If it does, press the start button and try again bake again

GE Profile JGB97 Self Cleaning Oven Controls won't work

It sounds like the controls have been placed into a lockout mode. If your model is a JGBP79 do the following:
1) Press the BAKE and BROIL HI/LO pads at the same time for 3 seconds until the
display shows SF.
2) Press the SELF CLEAN pad. The display will show LOC OFF.

Now here is where the directions are kind of confusing, I will give it as they say it:

3) Press the SELF CLEAN pad again. The display will show LOC.
4) Press the START pad to activate the control lockout feature and leave
the control set in this special features mode.

Seems to me if its locked already, you would just do steps 1 and 2. And if you wish to lock it do steps 1 thru 4.

Ge spectra xl44 stove

Most likely the oven ignitor is bad or weak.  You can look at it and see how it compares to the broil ignitor.  If you see a whitish color on the ignitor and if it doesn't fully glow then it needs to be replaced.
