Kobalt 1/2in air impact wrench will not take off any nuts. It will hammer 1 or 2 times then air will by-pass out the exhaust. It works good putting nuts on.

Make sure that you have 90 psi of supply air. If you are not running an inline oiler run some air tool oil through the gun.
You could even try running some gum solvent through the gun to clean it. If it still does not work you may have to replace the two o-rings and bushing on the reverse switch shaft.

What type of lube oil for my hitachi brad nailer

Needs very little oil, just few drops of sewing machine oil or nail gun oil sold at lowes or home depot. Purchase smallest size bottle of Paslode or bostitch nail gun oil (most likely they will not have hitachi oil). Do not by air tool oil as this oil is for air powered impact etc. Good luck

How do you oil a Craftsman Air Impact Wrench Model No. 875191182?

Just put 3-5 drops of air tool oil down the air inlet coupler and then run the gun for 5 seconds. Do this everyday that you run the gun for best results.

I have model 261 3/4 in drive impact gun. When in tighten mode it doesn't work all the time. It does work and then it doesn't, all you hear is air.

Air motors have plastic fins in them that make it turn. They slide in and out of slots on the motor. You can tear it apart and clean them, but if you don't put all parts back in just right, gun will not work at all. I usually try to run wd-40 thru the gun. It is messy, but the more the better. You can also use carb cleaner (brake cleaner will eat paint, rubber, anything pastic) and then oil with air tool oil. Careful of the cleaner it is flammable!

My Dewalt framing gun blows compressed air thru the nailer nose? Thx Kurt

Rebuild gun with gasket repair kit.
How it works: Compressed air enters through air hose and fills gun cylinder.
When trigger is pulled, air inside cylinder rushes out and pushes firing pin that shoots nail.

Inside the gun there are gaskets that seal the nose, the trigger and the cylinder head.
When any of those three gaskets fail, then air starts leaking.

Putting a few drops of nail gun oil into gun before connecting hose is supposed to protect gaskets.
But everything wears out, and sometimes folks use 3-in-1 oil instead of gun oil.
3-in-1 is detergent type oil and will cause gaskets to fail.

Another thing is guns that are not used frequently and gaskets get dry.
Putting in a few drops of oil and then immediately shooting gun will cause gasket to fail, because gaskets are still dry.
Best to put in plenty of gun oil, and let oil go down into gun for a few hours before connecting hose and shooting. Even so, nail guns are designed to be used every few days with continual oiling.

My chicago pneumatic impact gun keeps running slowly with my finger off the trigger. what can i do to repair it

Put a couple of squirts of w-d 40 in the air opening where you usually put your oil . Keep hitting the trigger until it frees up and then add your oil for normal use. You may need to consider putting in a seperator if you dont have one, especially if your compressor is in a damper work space. If this is a second hand tool it may be from the previous conditions it was exposed to.So give it a little time if that is the case. Also, dont settle for the cheaper pneumatic oil. Quality oil will extend the life of your tool as well as improve the preformance.

Dont know where to put oil in Craftsman 1/2 " Impact wrench

I just bought one of these also. Manual says oil goes into "the air inlet" which I'm thinking is where you attach the hose. That way the oil is sprayed throughout the interior of the gun once you run air through it.
Question for you: I can't get an impact socket onto this gun, almost seems like the square hole is too small. (yes, both are 1/2" drive). How do you get a socket on this stupid thing?
(man that sounds like I'm an idiot, but I've spent a half hour leaning all my body wight, wiggling, etc. and can't get a damn socket on)

Craftsman 1/2' impact gun

Use a good grease. Don't pack it, just lube the parts. If it is all together, put in about half an ounce of air tool oil through the plug.
