Ebac 2200e dehumidifier fan not operating

I have an ebac 2200e, the unit turns on and the compressor runs but the fan does not spin, the compressor gets hot and the unit turns itself off until it cools down and then the compressor starts up again, does anyone know wether it could be the fan thats inoperative or the pcb board and if these parts can be purchased anywhere ?.

SOURCE: compressor wont start

It is probably a failed run capacitor for the compressor. Without the capacitor, the motor can't even try to run, but it will draw extreamly high amperage until it trips the thermal overload (avarage trip time 5-10sec) after it has a few second for the safety to cool off, it will try again. Either that or the compressor truly is seized

SOURCE: Blowing hot air, compressor not kicking on, just fan ? ?

are you speaking of the outside fan or inside? compressor should be a little warm but not boiling hot. the unit could be low on freon. if low it will run a while but the compressor will overheat and shut off leaving the fan running by itself ouside. if nothing outside is running check power. if you have power check the contacted outside to make sure it's pulled in. contacters are bad about going out on goodman untis. Also ants can get under contacts.

SOURCE: Amana Cooling Condensing Unit fan won't kick on

be aware that not repairing this asap that you are causing yourself more problems First I would change out the fan capacitor and see if this could be the problem. Secondly if the capacitor isn,t the problem change out the motor . By continuing to allow the system to cycle like this the compressor will take a dive on you costing more . Good Luck

Testimonial: "Yes, it's dual run capacitor problem. I used a stick to spin the fan blades and it starts to slowly spin and up to normal speed, so motor is good."

Condenser fan windings are rooted. No capacitor due to multi speed. Replace condenser fan motor they just clip on pcb.

Compressor fan spins at low speed

The contactor is a power passing device.Even though it is closing, it is possible its not passing the required voltage to operate other power consuming components such as the compressor and fan.Being exposed to the elements it's common for the contactor to go bad. They are fairly inexpensive and I would start by replacing it first before accusing any other component.

Have a duo therm penguin heat pump a/c when turning it on the compressor humms but no fan. the fan gets pretty hot upon the roof after 20 sec of operation. the main hot wire to the unit is pulling 18.5...

check the cap for the fan. Will the fan start if you spin it when you hear the humming. Check the lock rotor amperage for the compressor to see if it is hung up. The cap if it is shared could knock out both the fan and comp so check both.

Fan does not turn but motor seems to be running fine

Rain should not affect an outdoor unit. It is designed to be outside. The motor that you are hearing... could this just be your compressor running? If the condenser fan is not operational the compressor will run much louder. TURN THE POWER OFF! See if the fan will spin freely if it is pushed. If it doesn't replace the fan motor. If it does you need to check the power at the contactor going to the condenser fan motor. This is 220 volts BE CAREFULL.. If power is going to the motor and the motor is not running... Change the motor and capacitor. If no power is going to it it could be a bad contactor.
Good luck....

Compressor fan

This sounds like it is caused by either a high pressure reset. Or the compressor is tripping a high temperature limit internally. One thing you may be able to do is to hose off the coil surface with a garden hose on the outside (condensing unit) this would allow the operating pressure to drop if it is dirty.

Hope this helps Ya
