There are two Phillips head screws on the cover over the power head. This is the cover that fits around the carpet height adjustment knob. You will notice there are four oval shaped holes on each side of the cover and the crews are in the ones closest to the vacuum handle. The screws are black and may be dust covered and therefore hard to see, but this is all that holds the cover on. When you take these out the cover will lift easily off. Once you do this the motor, belt, and brush assembly are accessible. I purchased a bag of two belts at the local ACE hardware. I recommend cleaning the brush while it is out. Also be sure the bearings on each end of the brush assembly turn freely as hair can work into these and cause them to bind. I hope this helps. lysager@gmail.com
