SOURCE: Old thermostat wiring doesnt match up with new thermostat

Look at the instuction booklet (or on the T-stat board) for a switch for the reversing valve.

Some systems reversing valves are in cooling mode when energised, some are in cooling mode when NOT energised.
You are looking for the switch (Usually very tiny, or a different jumper setting) that will change the position of the reversing valve when calling for heat/AC.

This is not a switch like the typical "ON OFF AUTO, HEAT COOL EMG HT switches. It will be on the board itself or the back of the T-stat.

SOURCE: Can't change my thermostat from fahrenheit to celsius.

When you do your system setup, Function 320 controls your temp. format. Set Function 320 to 1(celsius); Then press DONE. This will solve your problem.( Function 320 is defaulted to 0-Farenheit).

Intermittent heat for heater

if the thermostat is good you could have the system flushed as it may be clogging up, especially if the dexcool antifreeze is old.
make sure you use only the color the vehicle has in it, do not switch from the orange to green or vice versa, be sure that dexcool is mixed properly, 50/50 ONLY otherwise it becomes corrosive.

Dimplex LC Series causing wall to get very hot

Talked to my electrical supplier and he told me to avoid them. They are the same wattage in a smaller package, thus creating more heat in a smaller area rather than spreading it out to a larger baseboard. He said he doesn't know how they passed fed. Regulations. I am on the fence if I should get them.

Power at the wall thermostat, power at the heater, but doesn't heat.could it be the thermostat on the wall?

It could be, here is what I do to verify that the problem is in the thermostat. Remove the thermostat from it's mounting plate, you should now be able to see the wiring for the thermostat. Locate the red and white wires, they usually run the control for the heat, now place a jumper to join the red and white wires. The heater will now run with out a thermostat, if it runs yes it is the thermostat, if not you need to look in to the control side of things. This means either good electrical trouble shooting skills or time for the repair man.Good luck

No heat or fan when heater is started front lights up
Look at page 4. If this is not it, you would have to see if you are getting power off the circuit board to the heater, should be 120VAC. If not the board is bad. If you do get power, check the thermostat - if it's good (power going thru it) then the heater element is bad.

The heater will not work if either the thermostat or blower are not working. (or the heater element is bad). Most of the time with these electric heaters, it's the thermostat.
