I have an Element FLX 3210 LCD TV. Just got cable connected yesterday and when installer hooked up cable to the TV it will not pick up any channels. The cable outlet works for sure because we connected another TV and everything was fine. The TV pictures is ok because it works just fine with the DVD player. But when I try to program (scan) for the cable channels, it doesn't pick any channels up and just goes back to the blue screen and says "No Signal". The cable installer thinks maybe the plug in for the cable on the back of the TV may be bad? If so, is there any way around that? Oh and it also will not work if we hook up cable through the VCR first and then run it into theTV either. THANKS for any help - I'm so frustrated.

A channel scan is a vital part of utilizing your cable TV service. When a coaxial cable is connected to a TV, sometimes it will not display any channels until you configure the TV for your specific cable connection and scan for available channels. A channel scan can be applied to basically any type of TV or TV/VCR combo, even if you are missing its remote control.
Bring up the TV's menu. Look for a button on the front panel of your TV/VCR labeled "menu" or "setup." Press it and you should see a menu appear on the screen. Part of the menu should inform you what buttons you can use to navigate through the menu. If not, try using the volume buttons or channel buttons on the front of the TV and see if pressing those allows you to navigate through the menu.
Specify channel scan settings. Once you are able to navigate through the TV's menu, look for the "channel scan" "auto-program," or "auto-tune" option. This may be inside one of the TV's sub-menus such as "setup," "channel setup," or the like. The key of this step is to specify your cable settings before running your channel scan. The "tuner mode" option needs to be set to "cable" rather than "air" or "antenna." You may have to specify what cable type to use, this will be set to "std" or "standard" for the vast majority of cable providers. If you are not certain what cable type you use at home, contact the technical support department of your cable provider.
Run a channel scan. Once the scan settings have been set properly, run the scan (usually done by pressing a "start," "scan" or "begin" button.) When the scan is complete, check to see if you are getting all of your channels. Contact your cable provider if you are not sure how many channels you are supposed to be getting.
Used the tv remote go into tv Menu goto SETUP go down Ch. enter pick CABLE and enter again.Tv now will go into auto scanning for CABLE channels. After the auto scan done for the CABLE channels are finish. After this u will able to go to channel 60 to used the dish remote.
if you are using satellite or something that use channel 3 and there are no other channels(cable) do a channel scan from the menu of your tv.if you have an antenna or cable hooked up temporarily unhook it so when you do the scan all it finds is what you have on channel 3.channel scan may also be called autoprogram depending on your tv
may be the problem is the how you connect the converter to the tv... it shoud be connected at the video in and audio in of the tv... and the cable wire should be plug in the Rf in of the converter.. you can scan all the channel thru the remote..
Try going into the setup menu and make sure the ANT input is set to cable. Then look for Auto Program or Channel Setup and let it scan and find all the channels it can receive. After it's done you should be able to go up and down through the channels.
Just fixed ours with the same problem. You need to hit the volume buttons on the remote during the time the screen goes black but BEFORE it gives you the "Connect cables" message. It should trick the TV into giving you a blank channel.
Sanyo TVs are made notoriously cheap, and have little glitches like this. Best of luck, space cowboy.
It all depends on what and how the cable box is connected . Do you have an outside or inside antenna connected? If you have a cable box , why would you want to go to another station on your tv? Does the cable box have an rf output that connects to the tv through he antenna input on the back of the set? If so the tv should stay on a station to recive the stations thru the cable box. Didnt the cable tech explain how to use the system?? If you dont understand how to use the cable you should, for sure call the companey, and see if they can explain how they hooked up your sysytem as theres many many ways to do this. If you have the owners manual what im about to explain is in there too. On the tv remote theres a button called menu, press it once. Use the up and down arrows to scroon down and highlight the setup . press the ok or enter buttonpress the right language, then search for channels. When this is over then exit out of the menu, and try switching channels. If you still dont have any channels you gonna have to find out whats connected to your rf input as channels wont come in if theres not the right source connected. GOOD LUCK
