Re: blendtec total, in lcd it says, zero crossing, time...
Unplug the unit for 20 minutes and then plug it back in, see if it is restored to normal. If not, the product has a three-year warranty:

You have already found what is the problem the blades.
The blades after a lot of working hours with ice they have mainly three problems.
One the sharp adjes have created a lot of teeths and are not so sharp any more so the blending is not smooth anymore.
Second problem they have loose a title so they have move from corect place some milimeters and this change the wave motion and again the beleding is not so smooth as before.
Third the blades are secure on an axis which is located in two bearings which have een wearing out so the rotating motion of the blades again is not so smooth as before.
So if you are not able to fix the blades kit or to find someone in your area to do it profetionaly and cheap one good idea is to buy a new blades kid.
You can't. The Jars have perfectly balanced blades that cannot be changed. A replacement jar from Blendtec is cheaper than a replacement blade assembly from other manufacturers. 1-800-253-6383 is the customer service number.
Common issue with all of these carafe's. Once the jar starts to leak the bearings are shot and it is time to replace the jar. The bearings are non-replacable. Bad design in my opinion. I was able to get my last jar (I have been through 3 before the 5 year warranty went out) to last by hand washing and not putting it in the dishwasher, but after 4 years of use on this jar it failed too.
I wouldn't fix the jar, just buy a new one. A crack, though rare, could possibly harbor bacteria. You could try using heat and melting it, but it wouldn't work as well. Your jar may still be under warranty, call Blendtec at 801-222-0888
