- Double click on the clock in the taskbar and make sure the system clock is set correctly.
- Disable Zone Alarm
- Register softpub.dll using the regsvr32.exe tool.Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type regsvr32 softpub.dll and then click OK.
- Do the same for the following regsvr32 wintrust.dll, regsvr32 initpki.dll, regsvr32 MSXML3.dll.
- Restart Windows Live Messenger.
If you are still unable to fix Windows Live Messenger your computer might be infected, I recommend you Download registry cleaner to fix your errors and speed up your computer.

The file owssupp.dll is part of the Microsoft Office 2007 suite being housed by the application Microsoft Sharepoint 2007. The module is described as Microsoft Sharepoint Client Support which allows the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 to function in the operating system.
The owssupp.dll module contains functions and protocols that synchronize the housing program with compatible applications in the system, like Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, Excel and so on. It will be allocated around 90Kb of RAM and virtual memory resources during the initialization process. It is known to be placed under the location C:/ Program Files/ Microsoft Office/ Office 12/. The owssupp.dll module is known to have a file size of 72,248 bytes.
Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 is an application which is composed of varied server capabilities for information sharing within the network of an organization. The software provides comprehensive content management and indexed search functions which speeds up information dissemination.
The housing program also supports intranet, extranet and web-based applications running on Microsoft Windows operating system; integrating all these into one basic platform and interface.
There may be instances wherein the system will report an error regarding the owssupp.dll module. This involves Internet Explorer 6 and 7 crashes when a Microsoft Office documents on Excel and Word are opened using SharePoint.
First method is to locate the owssupp.dll file in its containing folder in C:/ Program Files/ Microsoft Office/ Office 12/, and rename it to owssupp.dll.old. Now you need to go to the folder C:/ Program Files/ Microsoft Office/ Office 11/ and locate the file owssupp.dll there and copy it over to the /Office 12/ folder containing the owssupp.dll.old.
Now, you need to register the said DLL by running command prompt and typing in REGSVR32 OWSSUPP.DLL. After integrating it into the registry, you may receive an error in the failure of registering the owssupp.dll. Pay no attention to this since this will indicate that the registration is successful.
