You need to replace the small bios battery or CMOS battery if you changed it and it didn't work the battery was probably dead. Pull and test the battery. If the battery tests good yep you may have a board motherboard problem. Check the new battery first test any new battery it could be dead on the shelf always good to find out.

Beep Codes Your computer might emit a series of beeps during start-up if the monitor cannot display errors or problems. This series of beeps, called a beep code, identifies a problem. One possible beep code (code 1-3-1) consists of one beep, a burst of three beeps, and then one beep. This beep code tells you that the computer encountered a memory problem.

Computer hangs regularly, usually after just over an hour. But occasionally after a few minutes. Attempts to check 1TB disc unsuccessful (Extended WinDlg122) because computer freezes half way through...

Sounds like 1tb hard drive is passing quick test and then freezing extended test. And if it doesnt freeze during the 200gb test then I would guess the 1tb is going bad. Check the event viewer in windows under system and see if there are any Disk errors with a red X and that ideall will say disk drive 1 or 2 cant read it and yeah that would help confirm it is failing.
